2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Standard Range AWD
Static displays at the British Grand Prix are usually abysmal and this year, once again, was no exception to the rule. However, the local constabulary usually attempt to make up for it.
For a few years Northamptonshire Police and the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) had a brilliant display of vehicles on show for the spectators.
This year's offering was put on by Northamptonshire, Staffordshire and, surprisingly, the Metropolitan Police forces. Although smaller than usual there were still some nice things on show.
Amongst a number of vehicles parked up alongside the old start/finish straight was this rather nice Ford Mustang Mach-E demonstrator vehicle that is currently on trial with Northamptonshire Police.

A big thanks, too, to the officer who offered to get out of the way to get some clear shots.

"The Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 is a heavily modified Ford Mustang Mach-E intended as a technology demonstrator. The car was developed as a result of a collaboration between Ford and RTR Performance. The car is able to produce some 1400BHP from its seven motors".
Seen here in its brand new recolour which despite its usual lack of any front detailing looks particularly hot riding on these multi-spoke wheels and wearing yet another Ford Performance branded livery.

The irony of the Matchbox exclusivity deal ending this year thus meaning more retailers stocking the brand for the first time since 2016 is i'm buying MUCH less at the moment. Hardly any of the latest Case D has shown up anywhere, most stores getting in Case B and C and not restocking plus i've cancelled all my usual Matchbox Moving Parts and Collectors series from abroad as they were costing me stupid money most months, especially in custom charges which regularly exceeded 100.00!!
The price in Tesco has almost doubled in 12 months and theres no sign of any new five vehicle sets either thus precious little worth buying at the moment!
For some reason I was tempted enough to grab another 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, an interesting and well executed budget diecast which is well detailed and glossily finished.

A rather juicy looking new recolour of the already still very fresh Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E casting.
From the new MBX Electric Drivers five vehicle set which as its name suggests contains just EV's.

Brand new Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, part of 2023 Case A. A rather good likeness of the real sporty SUV EV which thankfully hasn't succumbed to having a one piece plastic upper half. Sharp tampo detailing front and rear plus a shimmering metallic maroon finish.

Following on very quickly from its metallic maroon debut release is this new rather vibrant metallic orange Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E which has been included in the new MBX Electric Drivers five vehicle set.
I'm already a big fan of this casting, though ironically not of the real vehicle, which has ben replicated rather effectively for a budget toy car.

Very impressive new Matchbox release of the controversial Ford Mustang Mach-E, an electric SUV which may or may not be deserving of the iconic nameplate.
Looking a million miles better than the awkward Hot Wheels equivalent, this casting pretends to be nothing but 100% factory accurate and is very true for what Matchbox stands for.

Since getting these i've definitely noticed more Ford Mustang Mach-E EVs in real life. Definitely quite an acquired taste styling wise and the use of the Mustang name questionable, but it works well in miniature and for me i'd say Matchbox have done a really great job with theirs.

Nameplate controversies aside, the all electric Ford Mustang Mach-E has proved fairly popular on both sides of the Pond with its sporty looks and SUV/crossover ride height.
Hot Wheels brought out their awful awful version first but as that was clearly a million miles from being stock it was down to Matchbox to bring us it in true factory fresh style.
I can confidently say they've done a really superb job, its pocket money price taken into consideration, with a beautiful metallic finish, sensible choice of wheels and plenty of front and rear tampo detailing.

Latest 2022 Case H recolour of the Hot Wheels Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400. A very odd looking casting if i'm honest which looks even more strange without front headlight detailing! I'm not a particular fan of the real car either but as ever I rarely pass up licensed HW castings. Found recently at The Entertainer. Mint and boxed.

Buying a full 72 count box of 2023 Case A ensures several of these new Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E castings in my collection. The use of the hallowed Mustang nameplate is definitely a risky move but its styling can definitely be described as bold and has been captured well by Matchbox.
