Receiving a testimonial from Anna was a big surprise, a great pleasure and honor as she is a photographer I really admire.

Her flower macro shots are soft, delicate, dreamy. Colors are always bright, outstanding, enhanced in their beauty. The feeling I get from her work is enchantment.

Thank you so much Anna for your appreaciation and being such an inspiring contact!

American Robins spend a good deal of time on the ground listening for their food. They're animated and fun to watch as they run between the newly emerging leaves with their heads cocked - listening/ watching/nibbling...listening/watching/nibbling.

They're also really curious and feisty little characters... which will often bring them right up to quietly sitting humans. :)

This movement of a new c2c Aventra back to Wembley was my other main target for the day but at one stage I didn't think it was running, with the 720 eventually departing from Shoeburyness 34 minutes late but thankfully it was following directly behind my train from Upminster! I knew I had plenty of time to walk the short distance here as the connector loop was already occupied by the 3S70 RHTT ahead of it.

The introduction of the small fleet of 8 class 720s for c2c has become a very protracted affair with many mileage accumulation runs on the WCML in order to attain fault free running and the return of units to Litchurch Lane for modifications. The North Thameside commuters have been complaining vociferously about overcrowding in the peaks partly thanks to the removal of the small fleet of 387/3s that initially were loaned to Great Western for Newbury services and are now at work for Great Northern and have been pressing hard for the introduction of the Aventras as soon as possible.

I have this really good friend named Jon. He has taught me a lot over the years and like all good friends there are things that Jon has said to me that have always stuck with me. These little jewels come up in my head every now and then and always make me smile when I think of them. Case in point, this photo.

I was out for a sunrise shoot around the opera house and was hoping that I might get some color in the sky with all these beautiful clouds. As I started to see just a hint of color(what you see in this photo is all I got) I rushed around circle quay trying to find the right composition. As I came around the corner I ran to the end of the dock and setup to take some shots. Its a shot I had taken earlier in the week so after I took my shots I started to crave something different. As I walked back the way I came I remembered something Jon had shared with me, his love of "bench" pictures! Being the dreamer that he is, his love for "benches" in pictures has always stuck with me. Maybe its because there is something magical about an empty bench, longing to be sat in, while enjoying the view of whats in front of it. I have have to admit I secretly started to like them to, these "bench" pictures, maybe for the same reason. Its the dreamer in both of us I guess and its why I think we get along so well as friends.

Now every time I'm on a photo adventure, I always try to remember to grab a "bench" photo for my friend Jon.....and maybe for myself too :)

How this shot was made:

Prompt: What inanimate object/thing/concept is something that you take for granted on a daily basis? What would someone who is not as fortunate as you are say about your “luck” to have such a thing in your life? Think about your blessings today – focus on opportunity/experience/something you have/do EVERYDAY that is an unforeseen blessing in your life.

My picture for the Joy of Luck group today represents two things. (besides being slightly cliche, sorry!) The first one is reading. Not just the ability to read, though I am grateful, but the access to any book I want, the time to read, the knowledge I gain, and very often the escape it gives me.

The other, which you cannot tell, is that this book is about the gorgeous mountains i live next to. I definitely take them for granted and do not get up in them as often as I should. I do know how lucky I am to live next to them, and need to make it more of a priority in our busy lives to escape there, decompress, and soak in a little nature. It is usually just what I need.

I hope this one is clear enough for you.

For her wonderful testimonial, this is for you my friend! (Southwest girl)

For FGR and I Love the 80s. I've been wanting to use my roller boots in a shot for ages. I couldn't find them last time I did an 80s shot so when I discovered them I stashed them under the bed in readiness... They are mine from back in the eighties. I didn't appreciate how fab they were at the time - but I guess they weren't retro-tastic back then. I wanted a cheapo pair like all my friends and these are proper leather. I really should summon up the courage to go skating!

the travel by the sea ... for the trade or the war .. now the story with the comments by the light and the color - possibly a new story - or may be just the old story we can not brake from

Taken for the weekly challenge. (This is a humongous crop from my 50mm lens!)

We've noticed a massive drop in the numbers of bees this spring, and of insects in general. I hope we're not too late in realising the value of these little guys.

Un'immagine semplice ma delicata, quasi eterea e soprattutto che, NELLO SFONDO, ricorda tanto il colore dei suoi occhi, per ringraziare Stefania per il testimonial che mi ha scritto.

Grazie Stefania!

A simple yet delicate, almost ethereal image and most of all IN THE BACKGROUND similar to the color of her eyes; to say thank you to Stefania for her testimonial for me.

Thanks a lot Stefania!

Words fail me and the sorrow is overwhelming. My heart aches for all touched by this horrific act.

I'd like to extend a great big 'Congratulations' to my dear and long time Flickr friend, Kathy. All the best to you, your family and especially little Mr. P.

This may not be the traditional bird for the occasion, but seeing as flamingos are Kathy's favourite type of bird, well, what the heck! =^D

for the ice to come back. Svalbard Archipelago,

Two years ago, Alice left. To a place without memories, or maybe, which contains all memories.

I still miss her. I still think of her. I still don't understand certains things. But I am rich of what she gave, of what we shared. Of our embraces, of her graceful way to be happy about small marvels. A child, the color of a flower. And of the proud way she used to say "my daughter".

I have finished today 2 repaints for a very nice person :) She asked me to "refresh" their two Elsas. I work these days like a machine :) I have some to show you ;)

Goal for next week: to not take a last minute photo! Been procrastinating and leaving my photos for the last day lately resulting in me being rushed on a busy sunday, trying to get a quick photo so I don't miss a week. Will have to try to change that for next week and put my all into my photos again. Hope you all had a wonderful mother's day.

Skateboarders rally at City Hall in downtown Toronto. With a large ramp that runs close to the front building, many took the opportunity to have a run down it. Sufficive to say, many didn't make it down that smoothly.

For you, yes you, on a cold winter day. This is from last fall in the dahlia garden at Point Defiance Park. It's a comforting thought that warmer days are indeed ahead.

This is an edit in Topaz Studio using a texture layer that gave the bokeh a touch of interest, at very low opacity, then the effect removed from the flower itself with a brush. They make using layers and masking really easy.

Thank you for you kind visits, faves, and comments my amazing friends. You are all the best! :)

For the past two days (October 24-25th) drenching rain, cold temperatures, and 30-40 mph winds prevailed. Just before sunset on October 26th, the sun broke through briefly. The color changes and rapidly moving clouds created quite spectacular second-by-second changes!

(For the Pareidolia Groups: I see a horse galloping across the sky with two riders.)

- Here are the power-crystals you requested for the nuclear waste, or wait half of the power crystals you demanded, the other half and the cannon will be yours when we know that the goods are as radioactive as you claim...

- Well if you only give us half of the crystals and no gun, we will only give you half of our radioactive waste..

- Well, well this is how it is to trade with the scum of the galaxy, how shall we solve this little dispute?

- Well you could run it through the Radio-meter systems in your science-bay it is either that or we have to test it on a living creature...

- Sure true, I could do that but the test would take several hours, we have no prisoners at the moment so we can´t try it on one of them... Hmm, I have an idea...

The Blacktron officer calls one of his troopers:

- Hey you there, B-20232 come over here and ingest some of this material...

- But Sir what if the pirates are not trying to double-cross us, then my guts will burn and disintegrate in a much horrid way and lead to my painful death...

- Solder we can spare you we have plenty of you, if you don´t do it you will get "the special treatment" that is more painful than some bellyache and a quick death and if you are lucky, these pirates are trying to pull our legs, the choice is your dear pawn...

- Ok, Sir, I´ll do it, but I will file a complaint to the the Sinister Union for evil-troopers if I survive... Ok, Here goes nothing!

The Soldier swallows a handful of the glowing stuff from the canister, a sec or two and then starts to glow like burning magma in his face and a quick jerky spasm and then falls to the floor dead as dead corpse...

The Blacktron officer smiles:

Shout out to one of his soldiers to reused the dead soldiers suit after a anti-rad cleaning then he turns to the Pirates shakes the captains clawed hand and says:

- I do love honest pirates, you are really few these days, please take you goods, all of it, it was a pleasure doing business with you...
