I keep a journal for Olive and in it I write what we did that day, milestones, what her favorite things are and lately, funny stories from the day. She's so full of personality, spunk and opinions. I don't think she could be any cuter, but of course, tomorrow she'll prove me wrong.

Dinner has become one of my favorite parts of the day in our house. We've taken the post and tray off her high chair so she sits right at the table with us. She helps me set the table by bringing her plate, fork and napkin to the table. Then she climbs up by herself into her chair and waits for dinner to be served. We eat together as a family every night. We didn't always do this and sometimes it's not very convenient considering how early her bedtime is, but I'm so glad we've made it work. She eats whatever we're eating and she generally eats it enthusiastically. Now that she is mostly done teething (for now), her appetite has definitely surged and it's fun to watch her gobble up the food that Ryan has prepared. We talk about our day, sometimes we sing and almost always Olive is funny and charming. Lately Olive does not like it when Finn eats her food, which is quite the turn around from how it used to be.

One day this week, Olive particularly enjoyed her dinner but she was ready to get down and play. She asked for more and since she'd already had two servings at the table, we refilled her plate, put it at her little table and let her graze on it between running in and out of the screened porch. Many helpings later, it appeared she was full so I gave her plate to Finn to lick (is that gross?). Olive ran in from the porch, saw that Finn was licking her plate, turn to me with her hands pressed against her cheeks and her mouth in a shocked O and then spun around and stomped over to Finn. She waggled her finger at him, said no repeatedly (along with some other jabber, he got an earful), snatched the plate away and marched it back to the table. Then she looked up at me at me and signed "more". Jab, jab, jab went her finger into the palm of her hand.

After wishing and hoping and pushing and prodding, Olive has decided that she really likes books. It started with Goodnight, Gorilla. She liked to read it after her nap and she would ask for it to be read 3-5 times in a row. I brainstormed and researched other books along the same vein that she might like and we began reading Dear Zoo and Hand Hand Finger Thumb. Within just a couple of days, Olive began enjoying all books. It's the only activity she'll stick with for 30 minutes or more at a time. She likes to point things out in the book and "talk" about what she sees. She'll make animal sounds when she sees an animal she recognizes and when we talk about something that we've read about, she'll run and grab the book to read. She likes to sniff Duck and Goose's feet. It's so much fun.

The cadre of the 223rd Regiment Training Institute and support staff from various units are prepositioned at various points during each event of the 2013 California Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition to keep the operation tempo fast paced and well organized. The Water Survival event was a mystery event for the Region XII competition but it is now part of the usual lineup....Troops arrived at 6 a.m. at Cuesta College, Sept. 11, 2012, next door to Camp San Luis Obispo, to find 70-degree water, a light mist, and a very large pool to tread water in. Once in the NCOs and Soldiers had to stay afloat in place for five minutes. Then they swam the width, rested, and began a mental game where a color scheme was shown and then they had to swim the width back and forth retrieving the proper color-coded canteen in sequence. After another rest, while draped in a wool blanket getting colder by the minute, they jumped back in and dragged a buoyant ruck sack and dummy weapon the length of the pool, dumped it on the bulkhead and swam back. I utterly LOATHE what my beautiful homeland has become . . . Little wonder I am planning to retire to the Philippines ~ where being drunk in public is a Cardinal Sin . . .

And where I feel far safer than I do in King's Lynn, never mind LONDON !!!

Around 150 human rights activists mobilized by Amnesty International, Code Pink, The Center For Constitutional Rights, Witness Against Torture and other groups rallied in the rain in front of the White House to protest the 12th Anniversary of the continuing barbaric incarceration without charge or trial of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Our Disappointer In Chief Barack Obama has failed to honor his oft repeated campaign promises to close this shameful facility and free the more than 70 inmates cleared for release years ago.

For lack of any better options, we ate lunch at Bubba Gump. It was pretty good, actually.

I am pleased to announce you the creation of a new project for Tina who wanted something around a tutu dress set... So I plan to make a real pancake tutu with a gradient in different tulle overlays, inspired by the romantic ballet, where the spirit of Giselle, dancing with her lover, comes to save him from the death.

This set include seven pieces...

- A blouse, fully lined, sewn in a cotton batiste dyed with bright pink color, edged with lace on the bottom sleeves and with pale pink rayon cord around de neckline. Embroidered roses adorn this piece witch closes in the back with beads and loops.

- A pancake tutu sewn with a gradient in different tulle overlays: gold at the top, on dotted cream, on pale pink, and ending below with mauve pink. I used the traditional technique, that is to say, with lots of layers fixed together and with a metal circle inside to maintain a certain rigidity.

- A corseted over-skirt sew in a lovely yellow-cream jacquard silk satin, fully embroidered and edged with lace and burgundy rayon cord. A fake lacing, a knotted rose on the front panel and a real lacing on the back...

- A cream pantyhose, hand painted with acrylic painting, decorated with tiny flowers and leaves rising from the ankle to the knee.

- A short cape, sewn with lace on satin with tiny embroidered roses, edged with fur and closed with a cordon ended with small pompoms. Because I couldn't make up my mind about the color, I I decide to make it reversible: pink or green depending on the mood of the day.

- Hair accessory: some millinery flowers... mounted on hair clips.

- A pair of ballerina shoes.

This set is worn by my "Nijinska" blythe doll customized by me.

I used a real factory Blythe that looks like Matryoshka Maiden and bought especially to become this ballet girl, tribute to Nijinski.

Work done:

· Carving of her nose, lips and philtrum

· New full makeup made with artist Extra Soft Pastels "à l'écu" from Sennelier and sealed with several layers of MSC

· Sleepy eyes

· Gaze corrected

· New lashes

· Eyelids painted with artist Extra Soft Pastels "à l'écu" from Sennelier

· Four new pairs of eye chips hand painted by me using professional Golden iridescent fluid acrylics. Baby pink (right), Pale lavender (center), Royal blue (left), Olive green (center)

For Corpus Christi 2016, record crowds accompanied Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

From the Solemn Mass with the St. Cecilia choir to the glorious outdoor procession with the Blessed Sacrament in the parish gardens, the feast of Corpus Christi at St. John Cantius Church in Chicago is an important experience for parishioners and visitors.

Flowers and incense prepare the way for the Blessed Sacrament, and elaborate chalk designs adorn the pathways to the various altars set up for the procession.

Many thanks to the hundred or so volunteers: artists, workers, cleaners, servers, religious, and clergy who helped give glory to our Eucharistic King. And many thanks to the numerous faithful who attended.

After making this block I was on a paper-piecing kick. This block is "Sunblock" from Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Volume 3. I think that it looks like a Christmas flower.

Once the word was out that newly appointed L.A. MOCA curator, Jeffrey Deitch, was constructing a show about the history of graffiti the cannons were set loose for an exhibition that would change the scene forever. In the run of it all Deitch has entered himself in the graffiti game as one of the most infamous curators, and buffers by removing Blu’s commissioned mural, and then going over KATSU’s last minute fire extinguisher tag. In all respects, if it wasn’t for Deitch who hired the two co-curators, Roger Gastman and Aaron Rose, whom all together assembled one of the most talked about, reviewed, and critically important shows of the year.
