Taken at the Sculptures on the Green @ the Central Coast. "Fools Vessel" - by Michael Shiell This one was a stand out for me, made from heavy gauge wire the boat was positioned beautifully on the water so it looked like it was floating.
Elsie went out for a minute than turned around and came back in. Cried for awhile by the door, then slept the day away.
I'm driving around in my car
I'm driving too fast
I'm driving too far
I'd like to change my point of view
I feel so lonely
I'm waiting for you
But nothing ever happens and I wonder
I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue sky
And all that I can see is just a yellow lemon-tree
I'm turning my head up and down
I'm turning turning turning turning turning around
And all that I can see is just another lemon-tree
Nature played an April Fool’s joke on us yesterday. The day started out beautiful and sunny. Then in the afternoon it started to cloud up and in the evening we got 2 inches of snow. It is very unusual for us to have snow in April here in Central Indiana, so nature is really playing tricks on us! Today is sunny and the snow has already melted, tomorrow is supposed to rain with a chance of severe storms, and then it is supposed to snow again Wednesday. Ket is helping to demonstrate how deep the snow is. I took this first thing this morning before the snow started to melt.

This scene put me in mind of the model railroad and dioramas I built as a kid. Miniature make-believe landscapes with tiny buildings and roads, trees and grass. I tried to make them as realistic as possible, then imagine myself shrinking down small enough to walk through them. See the little barns and houses at eye level. Maybe hop the local freight for a loop around the layout (thinking of the Twilight Zone episode "Stopover in a Quiet Town"). Or just sit on the hilltop admiring the view. Total escapism I know. But at least it was based on a form of creative effort as opposed to just getting drunk. Wish I still had one of those diorama or even a photo of one. All of that stuff exists only in my memory now, like so many things from childhood. I think these memories form a large part of the fuel that drives my photography. Whether conscious or not, I'm all about creating my own little worlds when I'm out shooting. I suppose there's some of that in all of us. Fashioning the world around you through your lens, seeing things as no one else can. I come to this little valley as often as time permits. It just makes me feel good to be here. I can't explain why, it just does. On this day a storm had just passed in time for the setting sun to be revealed. The valley was filled with a golden glow and absurdly long shadows. This is exactly the scene I imagined as a kid, and here it was in real life, all these years later, stretched out before me.

First selfportrait since last July. Sometimes it takes you a very long time to realize you've missed something.
This is a story about how we all want to be different from what we are. About all the things we wish we had and about those we wish we didn't.
A few days ago, I was on a walk through the countryside when I saw a pheasant. It disappeared into the barley. I put my camera in program mode and the lens at its longest focal length of 90mm and hoped for it to reappear. Instead I heard a sharp “Taktak” behind me and when I looked round, I stared into the eyes of a roe deer. It had jumped out of the cornfield onto the middle of the road. After that brief stare it jumped into the barley and jumped up three times to see if I was following her. At the third time I snapped my shutter…half a second too late! But at least I had a nice shot of the barley.
Yesterday I was at the same location taking photos of the barley when I heard rustling behind me. There she was again. She had almost bumped into me. She turned sharp left and ran at high speed along the fence, jumped it and crossed the street to disappear into the barley again. I had a 25mm lens on and offcentre focus, so the shot is cropped, and focus is somewhere in the trees. But at least I got something :-)

This is probably why Bou doesn't like me very much,,, I should really develop some kind of hobby and leave the dog alone... Oh well! :)

When I think of a #Fool, I think of the Tarot deck. The #Fool is the number zero, not because he is nothing, but because he can be anything. He has no expectations, complete faith in the universe, and no attachment to self. He appears a #Fool to the masses, but he/she is enlightened. It is a jester and pokes fun at our attachment to the ego and self. The jester's mask is a mirror that reflects at us the ridiculousness of the roles we play. So for this week's Flickr Friday, I pay homage to the Divine #Fool.

One of the 12 Blighty seasons: just a little sunshine and it feels warm and nice ;) Even the messy backyards of the neighbourhood seem beautiful (with that gorgeous magnolia the cherry of the cake ;)
Moments later the cotton in the sky turns into lead, it gets dark and gloomy and a pouring rain floods the area...
They call it Fool's Spring ;)

A Kildeer (Charadrius vociferus) on a Tawas Point beach pretending to have a broken wing in an effort to lure me away from something. Usually that something is a nest or chicks, but I saw neither of these nor a mate. Maybe it just wanted to fool me or was practicing.

The fourth in a series of vignettes (which I'm uploading in reverse order) each showcasing a fantasy minifigure. I wanted to narratively and visually tie the vignettes together, an idea I first explored in an old sci-fi figbarf. I decided to incorporate a gold star element into each build, and from this, a story emerged.
4. Two wyverns attack a field guarded by a scarecrow, unbothered by the gold star hung around the scarecrow's neck... or perhaps attracted to it. The stars may bring prosperity, but good fortune can turn sour in the hands of those who do not know its value.
1. Opportunity
2. Strike
3. Rule
4. Fool
