The We're Here! gang are being falg-waving, drunken fools today. But don't be fooled...that's alcohol-free gin I have there, and those wee flags are actually dealy-bobbers.

Young love goes away. I’m pretty sure it does. Whether it’s a couple that’s been married for decades or an old flame, it goes away. With mature age should come a different kind of love. Two mature people should fall in love all over again with their new selves.

After being bumped while trying to shoot fireworks without a tripod. I noticed the resulting picture to have a swirling effect. I started taking shots while motioning the camera in tight CW circles. This one worked out pretty good.

So, I've been wanting to do a set of shots, based on tarot cards, for a while now. I'm hoping to do the whole of the major arcana at least and for all the tarot purist (and trust me I understand, I have 7 decks at the moment) this set is going to be Inspired by tarot, rather that an acurate symbolic representation!

This isn't exactly what I wanted to do but it's pouring down with rain... again and i'm kinda limited.

See Marge, told you I'd be using the paint again soon ;-)

BIG HUGE thanks to Pareeerica for the textures and the background! you rock!

And thanks to BFstock on DA for the lovely pooch!

Anyway, I know this is different from what I normally do, but it sure was fun... think I'll be trying this style again!

"I know I ask perfection of a quite imperfect world and fool enough to think that's what I'll find."

Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.

Last week I took my family to Cape Kiwanda for mothers day despite the forecast of rain . I haven't shot any seascapes with the new gear so I had been itchin to give it shot. 30 minutes prior to this it was a full on monsoon where each drop of rain felt like cubes of ice pounding on your skull. There was very little wave action going on so a ventured pretty far down the sandstone to capture what little wave action there was. When the sun broke through I looked down at my feet and the stone shimmered like gold .

The Fool or The Jester is titled Le Mat in the Tarot of Marseilles, and Il Matto in most Italian language tarot decks. These archaic words mean "the madman" or "the beggar", and may be related to the word for 'checkmate' in relation to the original use of tarot cards for gaming purposes.

In the earliest Tarot decks, the Fool is usually depicted as a beggar or a vagabond.

The Tarot of Marseilles and related decks similarly depict a bearded person wearing what may be a jester's hat; he always carries a bundle of his belongings on a stick slung over his back. He appears to be getting chased away by an animal, either a dog or a cat. The animal has torn his pants. In the Rider-Waite Tarot deck and other esoteric decks made for cartomancy, the Fool is shown as a young man, standing on the brink of a precipice. In the Rider-Waite deck, he is also portrayed as having with him a small dog.

In many esoteric systems of interpretation, the Fool is usually interpreted as the protagonist of a story, and the Major Arcana is the path the Fool takes through the great mysteries of life and the main human archetypes. This path is known traditionally in Tarot as the Fool´s Journey, and is frequently used to introduce the meaning of Major Arcana cards to beginners. The Fool is the spirit in search of experience. He represents the mystical cleverness bereft of reason within us, the childlike ability to tune into the inner workings of the world. He is seemingly unconcerned that he is standing on a precipice, apparently about to step off.

The number 0 is a perfect significator for the Fool, as it can become anything when he reaches his destination. Zero plus anything equals the same thing. Zero times anything equals zero. Zero is nothing, a lack of hard substance, and as such it may reflect a non-issue or lack of cohesiveness for the subject at hand.

Life is not easy. After a hard day's work, endless house chores meet you at home. What do you think would a douse of cold water do to a tired and aching body?

Happy April Fools' Day, everyone!... have a great holiday!

Day 91 - April 1, 2010

Big Danbo invited Little Danbo to the park today for a picnic but never showed up. Apparently, it was one big April Fool's Day joke. Tsk, tsk.

What do you suggest Little Danbo do to get back at him? Leave a suggestion in the comments and the best one I'll use in the follow up photo to this one. Be as creative as possible.

A test run from Crewe and back had the manoeuvres at Chester to suggest that it might be steam. It was actually D9000 again but with a buffet restaurant carriage attached! Seen near Wardle on its first of two trips.

Here is a high tech April Fools joke from Google. The end is surprising when you realize the whole thing is a joke. I was thinking while watching it that it was a great idea for the little ones in our life to have a self diving bike. It's short and worth a look click HERE

Guess what we woke up to today? Yes ... snow! Mother Nature's version of an April Fools' joke I suppose? Fortunately it is only a few centimetres and not as much as on this day in February. Mercifully all of this has melted and although there is snow on the ground today, the lake ice is almost gone and Spring is slowly showing its kinder, warmer, gentler face.

This is the back of our house with Nina, Rosa and Tess respectively serving as my winter models. Below is a view of my house taken from the lake ... for a variety of photos of the view from my front yard check out ...
