Following the watery theme from Saturday this is the shape made by a Grebe diving beneath the water and me not having a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the movement. However, I rather liked the blurry plop!
Heavy rain again this morning and overnight and a cold freeze coming for the week. The roads are nuts as everyone decides to behave badly in the rain- sigh!

The Pointe St-Charles Switcher is on its way to the Port of Montreal with sixteen cars and is on the move again after waiting for its signal (CN 148 was just ahead of it and going to the port as well). A shoving platform is seven cars back from the head end.
Following the loss of our Welshie earlier this year, we were so lucky to have been able to rehome this lovely little blue roan Cocker spaniel last May and she has been completely delightful, but not always as angelic as she looks!
Following the walking track along Leura creek you will see a series of delightful cascades. The walk takes less than an hour and I strongly recommend it.
Following up on previous post of owlet, this is mom keeping an eye on her brood and feeding them. We did see her get a vole, but most food was brought in by the male. He would bring it to her, she would then feed the owlets.
Following on from a few days of sunny conditions, more Autumn type weather followed. Another new spot - here we see the special livery OBB locomotive 1144 040 rounding the curve in Kub as it climbs towards Semmering with EC151 from Wien Hbf to Ljubljana on the morning of the 8/11/21.
Please note, the dull conditions made this shot possible at this location for the time of day.

Having driven up to LHR and stood for several hours for AF1 and the POTUS 'circus' to arrive and depart, it was somewhat ironic to find out later that after departure, VC-25A 92-8000 took a sightseeing route down to the South Coast, tracking right over my house before following the Sussex and Kent Coastline and turning near Dover for Belgium

I was in my backyard taking moon shots, as I often am in the habit of doing. It was not until I downloaded the images that I saw a small, black object in several frames. Upon enlarging the image, you can see the bat's outline, appearing to fly right past the moon and out of sight! This first shot is just the moon, but each of the following frames capture the bat's outline as it passes the moon!

*This was not "layered" into the images. The event is completely natural and I will probably never have the good fortune to have it happen again! My Canon EOS 7D Mark II gets 10 frames per second; the bat was in 8 frames of the ten!
As is my weekly habit .. A chance to get out on a Friday afternoon for a shoot is always on the cards..
Today being no different and with some wild weather on the boil I chanced my luck (and balance :-)) into the wind at Wollongong lighthouse point today.
Quite pleased that the light popped after the last couple of days fizzers (persistence right ?!) Still mostly shooting with the 14mm prime (21mm on the crop sensored KP) and having .. well.. hit and miss results over the zoom lens - it's different to what I'm used to from a wider lens but I'm still smitting with it.
Hope you enjoy these shots as much as I did finding them.
A male Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina) (in right side) was following his female partner in flight for a romantic place. They were just taken off from the water due to the approach of some fisherman boats. Fortunately I got them in straight line at the eye level against a magnificent smooth Bokeh Backdrop. Pics was taken from Purbasthali, West Bengal, India.
Following another aircraft that was climbing out ahead of us somewhere over northern France heading South just after sunrise.

The Queens Head in the Market Place, Newark was originally a private house but became a pub at some time following. Built in the early 1500s, it was extensively restored in 1950 and became a listed building in 1960.
Nowadays it combines being a pub with that of a restaurant which specialises in Thai Food. It is very popular, especially on market days.
