The story again for those who didn't see the B&W version:
Two months ago when I was on a morning walk near home I had a close encounter with a yearling moose. It was really curious and kept following me around! It continued to eat calmly even when it was only 2-3 meters away. It even tried to walk all the way up to me, but since they can be dangerous I didn't let it, even though it didn't seem threatening at all. What a wonderful experience!

A dusk scene at the Science and Arts Park in Valencia. The phrase "following the science" is being consistently utilised by the Government relation to the lockdown and the control of the response to the Coronavirus Pandemic. It put me in mind of this visit to the "science" campus here and a magical evening at "blue hour" in Spain.

It is unique in the store and offers great lightness thanks to the succession of mirrors along the side walls.
The floating staircase: It is characterized by the absence of visible support points. The ramps are delimited by metalwork with geometric patterns running through the centre of the cage.
The P-shaped railing: This feature underlines Printemps' attachment to its identity and is part of a modern approach to showcasing its heritage

The landscape may not be turning green yet, but there's one sure sign of spring here - a ballast train!
CP 6241 and CP 6306 lead two GREX conveyor train sets south over a classic truss bridge approaching Marquette, IA. This curve across the floodplain of the Yellow River and the Mississippi Backwater slough is below the bluffs Effigy Mounds National Monument, on the ridge in the background. The crew, running under the symbol BAL-05, has been battling a bit of congestion this morning around Harpers Ferry, but is finally getting to run out the last few miles for a crew change ahead at the depot. The former SOO SD60 duo sure brings a nice pop of color to the otherwise dull early April landscape. I’ve always liked this bridge but the ground view has always felt like it could use a slight bit of elevation. I don’t shoot “wide” with the drone as much anymore (I prefer the far-less-distorted 3x tele of the Air3 more often lately) but this scene and height seemed to suit.
A little more of the story for those that care:
The CKPC has started the annual warm-weather blitz of loads out of the pit at Waterloo, WI which supplies rock for many of the former ICE (nee-Milwaukee Road) lines into Iowa. And thankfully for us railfans anyway, these trains seem to be some of the last holdouts for some of the EMD SD products still getting to regularly run the mainline. So on this sunny beautiful Sunday morning, when I heard the CP 6241 get a warrant out of Bluff (La Crescent, MN) for a run down the river, I drove north to meet them.
The BAL-05 had a good run to Harpers Ferry, but then was stalled out by traffic ahead. There were at least 7 trains within about 25 miles of Marquette at one point for a couple hours: 4 trying to go south, two trying to come up from Dubuque and turn the corner towards Mason City, and one poor northbound that got hosed at Harpers Ferry for quite a while.
The CP Marquette Subdivision from Marquette to Bluff is one of the last bits of track that’s still under Track Warrant Control on this now-critical link between Davenport (Nahant) and St. Paul (there are a couple others, but CTC has been installed most of the way now), so the first trick DS was quite busy trying to keep on top of issuing and canceling warrants to keep everybody moving. It sometimes got a little messy (there was a shove move up a different leg of the wye in Marquette required at one point to make a meet work…). But trains eventually got to where they were supposed to be going! And since this BAL-05 was also following a slower train ahead, it allowed me to get 10 separate runbys over the course of the afternoon of this fine duo. A good early spring day even if it was still the "brown season!"
Noctilucent clouds in the sky over my home area. You can only photograph them in summer when the sun is at a certain angle to make them shine. Taking such a picture is like meditation.

Etta was "drawing the chain"😂 coming up the hill to home; I thought I try a quick shot even though I had the long lens on the camera ... love that look💕
Following the path towards the light
That shines down rays, so very bright
Below the clouds, above the ground
Illuminating the land all around
In the future, that shines bright
At the end of the path leading to the light
Before we were born
I walked on that beach
That beach where we met … Remember?
I do
I walked with you
I remember your hands
We held each-others hands and laughed
We knew we should soon go back
Like countless times before
And we smiled
We started running
We ran so fast…chasing each other
Like only children do
We touched the sand
And moved the clouds
With our arms at will
We folded at the suns and moons
Surrounding us
Following the tides
And screamed at the top of our longs
We touched each other
Making noises waiting in the water
Throwing ourselves in the soft sand
Full of joy
Full of anticipation
Excitement
We shall return
We shall return
We hold each other close
And speak ancient words
Whispering secrets
That now we don’t understand
We recognize that love and life
Has been prepared for us before we knew
And we know we shall meet
And we shall live it
And we speak secret words
That we shall forget
We make our own gestures
And promise ourselves
To be like found by one other
We walk steadier
Smiling … naughty … waiting
We shall forget this beach
With his suns and different moons
We won’t remember how we danced
And loved like different too
We have to forget
To be born again
That’s how things go
And we shall meet again
We shall meet
We can hear the wind whispering
It’s time
We start giggling
It’s time
The journey is starting soon
Go … don’t miss the time
Dive in it
Don’t wait for me
I come later
And our dreams will come through I shout
Yours and mine
And before you leave
We taste the clouds again
Moving them a well
We look at the suns and the moons
Surrounding us one more time
And we scream again
On the top of our longs
We laugh till we can’t stop laughing
Giggling like children
And we run chasing each other
Like only children do
We hold each other close
One last time
And speak ancient words whispering
We recognize that love and life
Has been prepared for us before we knew
We bow our heads gently
And we know we shall meet
And we shall live it
And we speak secret words
That we shall forget
We make our own gestures
And promise ourselves
To be like found by one other
And that we shall try to remember
Remember … this
We hold each-others hands again
One last time
We shall find ourselves
And not let go
The following narrative is absolutely wrong. No cell phone was lost and found .But the illusion was fun while it lasted.
As my husband packed up the car after a long day of photographing Bald eagles at Conowingo Dam, Maryland, I took a few last pictures in very low light expecting to delete them later. This eagle was perched high above examining something in its talons. I can picture some poor soul leaning out over the railing to capture a picture, perhaps of the sunrise that morning, only to have their phone slip from their hand and splash into the Susquehanna. How and why the eagle nabbed it is a bit of a mystery since most phones sink. Perhaps it was in a shallow spot and the eagle noticed it reflecting light. Whether the eagle was taking a selfie or texting, I cannot tell, but it certainly seemed to be concentrating on its unusual find! :)

Yellow-crowned Night Heron
The Yellow-crowned Night Heron (Nyctanassa violacea, formerly placed in the genus Nycticorax), also called the American Night Heron or Squawk, is a fairly small heron. It is found throughout a large part of the Americas, especially (but not exclusively) in warmer coastal regions; an example occurrence is the Petenes mangroves of the Yucatan.
A related heron, the Bermuda night heron, was endemic to Bermuda, but became extinct following human colonisation.
