A tiny Atala butterfly took its time and posed nicely for us.

Euclidia glyphica. A daytime flying moth which can be seen during sunny and warm overcast days.

Family Catocalines - Burnets - Companion Moth S:- Euclidia glyphica. May-July Flower Meadows, Woodlands 26-30mm Fairly common in Southern Half of UK and Welsh borders

I said I will take this laying down... It was better that way. I was able to be very still and anchor my elbows on the ground while I pressed the camera against my face.

After emerging from it's cocoon, this male io moth spent the day drying it's wings a the tip of a crape myrtle stem. After a full day of getting the opportunity to photograph this beautiful moth, it flew off just after sunset.
