I dont know what music there into as i couldnt hear what they were singing!

Autotags thinks this is a dragonfly!

 

Since I have my flickr language setting as spanish i have just learned (courtesy of looking it up in google) a new spanish word

 

libélula is spanish for dragonfly. I know this now but will probably forget this by tomorrow but it will be easier to learn it again when I come across it in the future!

If I remember right this was a cluster fly (Pollenia spp) that had just come out of the edge of a velux window i had opened ( this seems to be their preferred winter habitat)

 

The larvae of these guys are earthworm parasites

for FlyDay. Seeing more bees than flies this week. HFDF :o))

I was under the impression that the smell of Yew kept insects away. Clearly I was wrong.

When I started photography, my goal was to be able to take full frame close ups of insects with plenty of detail. Like this.

 

I am very very pleased with this shot. My thanks to the cooperative fly which sat still on the wooden bench as I inched closer.
