I wish that I could fly

Into the sky

So very high

Just like a dragonfly

I'd fly above the trees

Over the seas

In all degrees

To anywhere I please...

I guess with over 400 films being made in the nearby Alabama Hills, the Lone Pine Airport had to have someplace for the actors to service their vehicles...lol

I was sitting by my pond this morning when this dragon fly came by to see me.

I've taken this photo some time ago with a macro add on with kit lens. I edited it again in my current editing style for practice but I liked it so I am uploading it again.

All of us at one time or another,

have felt like flying away.

If only we had wings?

But no matter were you go

there you are, so they say.

And It maybe that we have something better,

our imagination and creativity.

So set them free!

"You're back then?" said the fly "We flies thought we were going to get some peace and quiet now that you were spending your time with that spotted monstrosity". I was taken aback, spotted monstrosity, surely they couldn't be talking about the beautiful and talented Arthur. "Do you mean Arthur", I said "the ladybird that I've been taking pictures of". "Yeah - that's him, evil monster, Arthur the assassinator is his real name, you know", the fly started rubbing his hands together with glee. "That thing eats 5000 of our little cousins, the aphids, every year of its life". I had never thought of it like that. "Aphids are pests though" I retorted "they damage plants!". "You mean they eat to try and survive", answered the fly, "anyway - you're a human, you can talk about who is the real pest on this planet, it was perfect before you lot came along". The fly then flew off, looking for some waste product to dispose of, or some dead and rotting animal to return back to the food chain.

Here is a Macro Fly,after the Dump was done.

A severed fly head that I found just sitting on a leaf at Lake Waterford Park in Maryland. I've found some bizarre stuff in the years that I've been doing macro photography and this will rank near the top. I'm guessing that the fly was the victim of some type of wasp.
