one of many voids or atriums in the futuristic Central Embassy mall in Bangkok. No two floors are exactly the same or aligned, so there is a sense of fluidity and dynamism which is apparent in the atriums.
Murmuration—named after the mesmerizing patterns formed by flocks of birds and swarms of insects—is the latest creation by Lalie Sorbet and Chrix. Part of a special SLEA Grant Residency from the Second Life Endowment for the Arts (SLEA), this immersive and organic experience continually reinvents itself. Nothing is static: dancing particles, animated textures, and random animeshes emerge to form ever-changing compositions. Each glance is unique, and each visit reveals a new facet of this evolving display.
Murmuration is a perpetually recomposing visual symphony, celebrating chance and fluidity. Every moment is a surprise, every appearance a fleeting poem. Let yourself be swept away… and become, for a breath, a particle in this infinite dance.
I was so glad I caught these geese on my way back to work. Wish I had a zoom lens as this was taken with my 50mm...I could have gotten closer! I love the ripples in the water though.

The element of water is reflected in the outfit shown, with a loose top and pants that evoke the fluidity of rain. The original hat adds a touch of creativity, completing a look that flows like a tranquil river under a gentle rain.

Silver Lake Viaduct in Pittsburgh's Larimer neighborhood is a prominent fixture showcasing a bygone era of masonry skills, being built for the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1902. Seeing and photographing a train across it had personally been one of my most sought after photos to get. On the morning of March 7th, I was able to accomplish that when the Norfolk Southern took a unit frac sand train down this on again, off again used piece of railroad to the Allegheny Valley Railroad interchange near the Allegheny River. Train movements prior to the fracking sand boom were extraordinarily rare, and movements across the Brilliant Branch in whole were even rarer.
When commuter trains were still was a regular thing in Pittsburgh, the Brilliant Branch stretched 4 tracks wide, featuring a flyover ramp build over top of the busy mainline in nearby Homewood. The flyovers purpose was being utilized by commuter trains and freight traffic bypassing the busy Penn Station at downtown Pittsburgh. The Pennsylvania Railroad commuter trains came to an end in the early 1960’s and the flyover ramps were removed not there long after, going hand in hand with the greatly diminished use of Union Station. In 2025, the branch line which once played a critical role in keeping the railroads fluidity at their peak is down to a singular track and a wye at the junction of the Pittsburgh mainline. The branch has found use in more recent years, with trail activists along with the City of Pittsburgh's green initiatives pushing to turn this into a bike trail. An effort that later succeeded into accomplishing. Sometime in 2025 during the warmer weather months, this rail line will be removed for yet another hiking/biking trail connecting from nowhere to nowhere.

Amtrak's new 50th anniversary Phase I unit, P42 #161, leads the westbound Sunset Limited, sprinting into Crosby on UP's Houston Sub.
To improve fluidity on this congested portion of the Sunset Route, an 8-mile long "second main" (IOW, parking lot for UP's 15k foot Louisiana-Houston manifests) is being installed between Dayton and here at the east end of Crosby siding.

A being with tentacles on its face, elegantly dressed, symbolizes the fusion of the strange and the sophisticated. Its presence stands out not only for its unusual appearance but also for its harmony with its surroundings: a melting chair reflects the fluidity of time, while a temple of crocodiles, imposing and mysterious, suggests a space where the ancient and the surreal coexist in perfect symmetry, challenging our perception of what is elegant and possible.

Sand Patterns. © Copyright 2022 G Dan Mitchell.
Varied sand patterns on a fold in dunes at Death Valley National Park.
One of the myths about sand dunes is that their features are in motion, being blown across the landscape by winds. The fact that so many features — ripples, waves — remind us of water reinforces the illusion. But here the fluidity is of a largely static sort, and these features tend to remain in much the same place over long periods of time.
The reasons that dunes come into existence begin to be obvious when ou get to know them. They tend to be in windy places where natural features obstruct, divert, and slow the winds, causing them to drop their load of airborne dust and sand. While these broad features are easy to understand, I remain mystified by the smaller scale features like those seen in this “intimate landscape” photograph — the waves, ridges, valleys, drop-offs that also tend to remain fixed.
G Dan Mitchell is a California photographer and visual opportunist. His book, “California’s Fall Color: A Photographer’s Guide to Autumn in the Sierra” is available from Heyday Books, Amazon, and directly from G Dan Mitchell.

Part of the label on the bleach that we always buy from the supermarket. As I have always been interested in words and language since an early age, reading avidly in general and often on the origins or etymology of a word, I often think of alternate meanings to phrases used and words in particular.
Here the use of “thick” to denote the fluidity of the bleach liquid can also be thought of as referring to its intelligence! Now you can probably start thinking of examples of your own.
For the theme on “yellow” for Macro Monday!
Horizontal lines indicate a sense of motionless rest and peace. Vertical lines are seen as tall and represent grandeur. Horizontal and vertical lines used together in a square or rectangular shape convey structure and represent stability. Diagonal lines move the eye in a direction and indicate movement and fluidity.

Prompt: Golden sparkling tears shimmering in the sunlight, reflecting a myriad of colours, a stream of untold nostalgia flowing gently through a secret garden. Each drop of spring rain delicately landing on fallen pink petals, creating a symphony of nature's melancholy. Capture the essence of a dreamy, hazy atmosphere in a wet-on-wet watercolour painting. Use a limited colour palette inspired by the dreamy pastel hues of spring, with subtle hints of pale green gold, buttery yellows, and mauve blues. Embrace the loose water effects to convey a sense of movement and fluidity, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. Craft a minimalist and impressionistic EmmAI composition that evokes a deep emotional response without the need for words. Let the painting speak volumes through its serene beauty and emotional depth.
Step into the Spotlight with the Kalani Jumpsuit by WellMade
Some outfits aren’t just worn—they are experienced. The Kalani Jumpsuit by WellMade is the very essence of bold sophistication, sculpting to my curves like a second skin while whispering timeless elegance with a modern edge. Inspired by the daring spirit of the '70s disco era and the sensual silhouettes of '90s supermodel couture, this piece fuses vintage allure with contemporary confidence.
I adore how the sculpted bodice and cut-out waistline effortlessly frame my figure, creating a striking balance between structure and fluidity. With 20 rich, customizable colors in the Fatpack, I can shift from sultry noir to pastel dreamscape in seconds. And the belt? A versatile accent piece, offering multiple color options to either blend seamlessly or create a statement contrast. Konark Sun Temple was built in the 13th-century in dedication to the Hindu Sun Lord - Surya. The temple is said to be an attribution to King Narasingha Deva I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty. Another theory says that the son of Lord Krishna Samba was cured of a disease by the Sun Lord, therefore to honor him, Krishna Samba got the temple constructed.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Konark Sun temple is a striking model of ancient artistry, fluidity of ideas, and a pedagogic treasury. Dedicated to the sun god, Surya, the first rays of the sun fall on the entrance of the temple. Much of the temple has fallen into rack and ruin but what remains still holds enough charm to captivate. An interpretation of a greater imagination, it has seen empires rise and fall, identities washed away, yet appealing to our sensorium even today.
Konark Sun Temple Architecture
The temple is known for its impressive Kalinga architecture that includes a depiction of a 100 ft high chariot being pulled by horses and wheels carved out of a single stone. The monument portrays the imposing chariot of the sun god. Built of Khondalite rocks, the original temple had 230 ft high sanctum which no longer exists, 128 ft high audience hall, dance hall, dining hall which survive still. There are 24 intricately designed wheels, 12 ft in diametre which are seen drawn by horses. These seven horses represent the week, the wheels stand for the 12 months while the day-cycle is symbolised by the eight spokes in the wheels. And this whole depiction tells how the time is controlled by the sun – being the very illustration of the Surya in the Hindu mythology travelling from the east in his chariot escorted by his charioteer, Aruna.
The entrance leads to the shrine of the deity of Surya made of chlorite stone. The walls of the temple are adorned with reliefs – intricate carvings of various figures including Hindu gods, images of the everyday mortal life, birds, animals and more. The temple also has erotic sculptures on its shikhara belonging to the tantra tradition. The wheels of the temple can be used as sundials and can very well predict the time.
The agami heron is a fascinating bird found in Central and South America. It is both beautiful and graceful in flight ... but also very reclusive in nature. When in breeding colors, its plumage is stunning ... white plumage on the head and streaming back feathers (think Fabio, LOL), chestnut colored belly, and green feathered wings which possess an iridescence to them. During mating season, they gather with others in the wetland habitat and actively build their nest. We were fortunate to find them during this process, as they flew back and forth retrieving sticks for the nest construction. We watched in awe at their immense beauty and fluidity in flight. Hope you like it.
Happy Friday!
