I saw this Blue Damselfly (Bluet) out on a peninsula in Somerset Lake at Somerset Beach Campground & Retreat Center. I love the color of this guy!

Bonatical Name:- Nymphaea alba

The largest flower native to Britain, which flowers June to August. The water lily has fleshy underwater stems that can reach upto 6ft below the surface. The flowers don't open until mid morning and start to close (like this one) in early evening partly sinking beneath the surface of the water. The flower, which has around twenty petals, and the large almost circular leaves float on the surface of the water. The flower is also thought of as a symbol of purity.

look like flower parts , don't know what they are used for though

I love the little piece of pollen stuck to the hair there. Looks like a little yellow bubble.

Seen at Kiev Landscape Park. Since these tulips are not for sale, only display, they are planted so that not all bloom at the same time. So it could have been better!

The photo was taken at the Annual Orchid Society of Alberta Show and Sale in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

I watched a Discovery Channel re-enactment of flight 93,

' The Flight That Fought Back '. The men and women on that flight were so brave, real heroes.

I am not saying those at the twin towers weren't, it's just these people realised what was going on and fought back.

Bless them all !

We remember the death and destruction and we are still waiting for those responsible to be made accountable.

Check it out large.

I promised myself not to take hibiscus shots anymore ...

but when I just saw the little offspring of that stamen in our garden

I was tempted ...

Okay ... one more time than :*)

I took these flowers at the Hitachino Mizube Park in Tsukuba on March 18, 2018. This year the cherry trees are blooming early.

Soft tones, soft focus and a softly handled subject (to avoid disturbing the water droplets).

Taken last Sunday morning after the first really chilly night of the Autumn. The remains of this Californian Poppy flower-head was covered in tiny water droplets formed from the very heavy dew. Perfect macro material!

All I had to do was keep an eye on the background detail and open the lens up wide and let the bokeh kick in.

Press 'L' softly to view large on black.
