Here goes my strange imagination once again!
A closeup of the Anther Cap at the center of a lovely pink Orchid, shot by my awesomely talented wife at the 2017 New York Botanical Garden Orchid Show. This year's show is titled "The Orchid Show: Thailand," and is presented in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory of the Garden, located in the Bronx in New York City.
Hope you all enjoy my happy little extraterrestrial. Let me know if you see something (or someone) else!!
Okay, so I changed my mind. Repeatedly. About what I wanted my Project 365 shot to be today. So I settled finally on this one, after waffling for at least half an hour. Mmm....waffles....
Two close-ups of two parts of a tulip. Base, and core. All we ever really look at are the petals, it seems. Meanwhile, there is so much more of interest going on in even the simplest store-bought bouquet.

We are in the middle of the wettest 4th of July weekend I can remember.... and it's cold too. I wandered around the back yard when there was a break in the drizzle. I like the way things look speckled with raindrops.

Reworking of an image from many moons ago. HDR, Painted effects, Topaz Glow, Edge & Bokeh effects, and filling in the empty space on the upper right.
A closer view than the last post...
Five stigma tower above this Hibiscus stem, with the purple flowers of catmint in the background.
Enjoy.

Listening to Diana Krall, there was no better photo to post than a beautiful flower, vibrant with color and full of life.

I know I say each flower that I post is my favorite & it is true but Stargazer Lilies are my absolute favorite!
My lilies are going crazy right now. Everyday the landscape changes & I love it. I am going to miss them over the weekend as I vacay in Toronto.
Not 'that damned, elusive Pimpernel' but the common arable weed which is widespread in our garden and the rest of the UK.
This was shot indoors off a tripod against a black granite background -- no flash. In post-processing I enhanced the blacks in lightroom to level the background and make the flower stand out.
A perfect shot to brighten an otherwise grey autumnal day and a welcome distraction from my real task for the day -- a back-catalogue clean-up.
For a bit more 'colour' on The Scarlet Pimpernel why not try The Wildlife Trusts website.
A local farmer near me sales gladiolus by the stem every year & he usually has a lot of customers stopping by to purchase on the way home from work, but I have never stopped by.
Today I decided to take a look at what he had & I now know why so many people stop by.
He had many colors & color patterns that I have never seen & they were only ¢50 a stem. I picked 5 stems paid my 2.50 then hit the road excited about my gorgeous blooms & late discovery.

Have a great day/evening
Its been raining all week so what's a boy to do? Take waterdrop photos! I like this one because its almost an abstract. But I particularly like how the image refracted in the middle main waterdrop is of the same waterdrops you can see in the background. Hmmmmm, I wonder what can be seen in *them*? ;> Check it out large.
I have taken this picture of these flowers in The Takasaki Natural Forest in Ibaraki Prefecture on April 5, 2018.
Deep in the forest there’s an unexpected clearing that can be reached only by someone who has lost his way.
The clearing is enclosed in a forest that is choking itself. Black trunks with the ashy beard stubble of lichen. The trees are tangled tightly together and are dead right up to the tops, where a few solitary green twigs touch the light. Beneath them: shadow brooding on shadow, and the swamp growing.
