The Sutton FlowForm 16 (on the left) and the Fled (on the right). The FlowForm is a sixteen square foot parafoil design kite while the fled is about thirty square feet. Both are quite capable of hauling an ultralight KAP rig even in the lightest winds. And fun to fly.... :))) You BET!! Not shown here is the FlowForm 8 which is half the size of the one shown here and works wonderfully when the winds kick up into really high gear.
The thing about Santa Barbara is the unpredictable wind. Or more like very light to very heavy with little in between. This psycho wind was from the NW around 25 mph. My flowforn 8 pulled like a drunken donkey, all over the place. I took it all down after less than 10 minutes. I want a straight down shot of this intersection, too risky today.
