Trying to fly a flowform 8 kite along the river tonight in very, very gusty dirty winds. Wind seems to swirl quite a lot down this slight hill to the river from the higher road and tall buildings nearby.
My flowform was ~100 feet out on my line bouncing up and down, every time there was a big gust it was visibly being pushed down instead of careening up into the the sky like normal. After losing the kite temporarily to the river, the wind picked up even more and was making an impact on the top of the water, you can see just how powerful this down draft is.
This video was taken around 6:15pm, I loved the way the sun was streaking through the menacing clouds, it's too bad I couldn't get the camera up in the air until most of the show was over.
