Being in Sydney this week with some spare time on the week end, I decided to travel with a Flowform 16, a Beak, a “peanut”, a Samsung NV 10, some gloves and line to try to target the Sydney Opera House.
First of all I did not suspect the wind to be that strong ( 20 to 25 knots) and the FF 16 was a bit too large.
Second I did not know that flying a kite over the opera House was forbidden and I found out when two policemen came to see what I was doing, same for the Sydney Police Department helicopter which in less that 5 minutes was patrolling over the opera.
Third, Auto Kap is still new to me and my angle was too low…
Fourth, flying a camera hanged on a kite over a crowd of visitors is much more stressful than flying over the water…
Unfortunately it did not last very long and the results are rather poor… a good pretext to go back tomorrow morning before the security and police patrol the premises… Hopefully more to come !!!Unfortunately the wind was too unstable and strong to try to make a panorama.

A last minute KAP session with PanoKAP and AlanKAP from the French KAP Forum in the business district of La Défense, west of Paris.
Very unstable wind, a difficult light and a siberian temperature (cold enough for the batteries of my rig to stop after a few minutes...)

Pre-Martello Tower no.11 built between 1788 and 1790.
Nikon D5000 and FF16 used to take this vertical shot (I failed to get the whole structure in shot a few days earlier).
I nearly gave up after 15 minutes due to poor lower level winds. But after a chat with a visiting French family I had another crack and eventually hit the stronger winds a bit higher up and it provided enough lift to get the D5000 up above the tower.
More shots to follow in this set including some ground based ones to give a fuller impression of this small fort.
