This little guy floats around the pond in front of the K&M Machine Fabricating plant on M-62, just East of Cassopolis. I guess he reminds the workers of what they could be doing, if they didn't have to go to work ;-)

Taking a hiatus from wildlife shots for a bit... so here is a different part of Mystic, this spot discovered while taking our son for a bike ride to uncharted (for us) area of town.
Not an uncommon sight around here...fences, shacks, garages, even sides of houses draped with scores of floats old and new.
Ugh, forgot to convert profile before saving as JPG leading to a grossly unsaturated version of the image... please see Float Shack Take II for the accurate colors of this shot.

Flotteur is French for "float". It just sounds sweeter, doesn't it?
This necklace features a fine silver pendant that has been handcrafted by me out of reclaimed silver. The butterfly measures 1" (25mm) wide by 5/8" (16mm) long from top to bottom of wing and is hung on an 18" (46cm) sterling silver chain.
