Ici, il y flotte comme un air de liberté
Ici l’immensité de la mer , l’aridité des roches calcaires nous invitent au voyage.

The Niijima Floats by Dale Chihuly
Chihuly's Niijima Floats were inspired by a trip with his glasblowing team to the glass school on the island of Niijima, Japan, in the Bay of Tokyo.
The trip rekindled memories of childhood walks along the beaches of Puget Sound where he collected Japanese floats and their fragments that had washed ashore.

listen: Float On
I backed my car into a cop car the other day
Well, he just drove off, sometimes life's okay
I ran my mouth off a bit too much, oh, what did I say?
Well, you just laughed it off, it was all okay
[Chorus]
And we'll all float on, okay
And we'll all float on, okay
And we'll all float on, okay
And we'll all float on anyway, well
A fake Jamaican took every last dime with that scam
It was worth it just to learn some sleight of hand
Bad news comes, don't you worry even when it lands
Good news will work its way to all them plans
We both got fired on exactly the same day
Well, we'll float on, good news is on the way
Bring it on, here we are, win or lose, win or lose
Win or lose, win or lose, win or lose, win or lose
Win or lose, win or lose, I can't say............

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!
It looks like this muskrat is floating in an unreal world with the marsh reflections all around. This photo shows one of the ways to tell a muskrat from a beaver - the round, scaly tail. Beavers are well known for their flat tails. It was fun watching the muskrat watch me. He floated quietly for a couple of minutes, then dived and was gone.

This plant is an aquatic perennial and under favourable circumstances its seeds may remain viable for many years, with the oldest recorded lotus germination being from seeds 1,300 years old recovered from a dry lakebed in China. The roots of the lotus plant are in the soil of the pond or river bottom, while its leaves float on the top of the water surface or are held well above it. The flowers are usually found on thick stems rising several centimetres above the leaves. Researchers reported that the lotus has the remarkable ability to regulate the temperature of its flowers to within a narrow range and it is suspected that the flowers may be doing this to attract cold blooded insects.

I can't help but think back to the 70s and The Floaters song 'Float On'.
An interesting aquatic creature to observe - by utilising the hairs on their legs that repel water and capture air, the tiny water striders appear to stand on the water's surface... the captured air allows them to float and move easily.
And how fast they zip about at times.

Some kelp washed up on the beach on Morro Strand State Beach in California.
Kelp (brown algae seaweed) possess gas-filled floats known as pneumatocysts that enable fronds to float on the water surface, maximizing exposure to sunlight and enhancing photosynthesis. The gas content of the pneumatocysts can vary, but are usually filled with a combination of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide. Depending on the species, the kelp may contain one large pneumatocyst or several smaller pneumatocysts distributed throughout the kelp.
As a child, I have always had a fascination with airplanes. Perhaps it was because my mother worked at the airport and I spent a lot of time there watching them take off and land while waiting for her to get off of work. I don't know what it is about them, but I find them a beautiful piece of machinery that can take us on fascinating adventures.
I remember how excited I was the first time I visited Yellowknife 20 years ago and got a chance to see float planes up close and personal. It wasn't until this year in Fort Simpson that I got a chance to fly in one.
This image from Yellowknife this summer is one of my favorites. Come aboard and take me to a different land!
