I have taken hundreds of shots of this jetty over the years but there are still a few different ideas that I want to try there. This is a shot I have been after for some time as it requires conditions to be just right. I got this yesterday with a calm sea, light winds and flat light, all at high tide which was exactly right for this composition.
Do it justice -- view large and on black!
A thousand years is but an instant. There's nothing new, nothing different. The same pattern over and over. The same clouds, the same music, the same insight I felt an hour or an eternity ago. There's nothing here for me now, nothing at all. Now I remember. This happened to me before. This is why I left.
You have begun to find your answers. Although it will seem difficult, the rewards will be great. Exercise your human mind as fully as possible, knowing it is only an exercise. Build beautiful artifacts, solve problems, explore the secrets of the physical universe, savor the input from all the senses, feel the joy and sorrow, the laughter, the empathy, compassion and tote the emotional memory in your travel bag.
I remember where I came from and how I became a human, why I hung around, and now my final departure is scheduled. This way out. Escaping velocity. Not just eternity, but infinity.
Day 83
Don't worry, even if things end up a bit too heavy, we'll all float on alright.
Six decommissioned R32 subway cars are moved from the 65th St. Yard by New York New Jersey Rail aboard a car float bound for Greenville Yard on Thursday, May 5, 2022. The cars are en route to their final destination in Ohio for scrapping.

This photo accurately describes how I feel in school right now: just kind of floating through as I wait for bigger and better things to come!

Today I thought I'd break up my stream of normal landscapes and see how something a little different fares. I drove down to Chico looking for some autumn color in Bidwell Park. Chico is pretty well known for all of it's beautiful trees and we saw many on the way to the park through the city, but didn't find much where we ended up in the lower section. It does have a pretty unusual feature. The creek flowing through has a cement pool with a dam they can raise to fill the pool from the creek.
So the dam was up and the pool was covered with fall leaves slowly slipping by in the current. So I litterally laid down on the edge of the pool/creek with my 50mm f/1.8 and was able to get very close to this cluster of leaves.

Happy weekend everyone! My day trip to the beach was fun but exhaustive. Took pics but mostly of my sis and her friends so will just post this and wish you all a great weekend.

Week 20
(Teleidoscope - Week #17 "Mythology")
So I said a couple weeks back that I had created a couple images for a Theory of Knowlegde project that describe language through the medium of music and tie those interpretations of the songs to a visual aid. I choose to display my own pictures, with the songs that inspired them. I loved being able to show my pictures and add the soundtrack to it while looking at them, but my favorite part was seeing others share their favorite songs and they're personal connection with each song.
This image was based on my good friend Serena's project :) Serena is one of the most original, open minded, free spirited, wanderlust filled, artistic, and just plain whimsical people I know. Her music project reflected exactly that, with her description and interpretation of the song "Float On" by Modest Mouse being my favorite. She said it reminded her of jellyfish, and how they just float along and let the water push them without care. The song reminds her that in tough times, everything will be ok and we'll continue to float on. I've included her music choices below :)
Frederic Chopin - Nocturne In E Flat Major, Op.9 No.2
~~~~~~~~
I also chose to do this image for the Teleidescope theme of "Mythology" because Medusa is another word for jellyfish, and they are scientifically catigorized in the Subphylum Medusozoa :)
Shall we float away all the way to the stars?
