Floats for small boat docks are stored on land.

Temporary exhibition of Robert Breer's work at the Tinguely Museum in Basel, Switzerland. "Floats" are sculptures that move extremely slowly, almost imperceptively.

"Robert Carlton Breer (September 30, 1926 – August 13, 2011) was an experimental filmmaker, painter, and sculptor.

"A founding member of the American avant-garde," Breer was most well known for his films, which combine abstract and representational painting, hand-drawn rotoscoping, original 16mm and 8mm film footage, photographs, and other materials. His aesthetic philosophy and technique were influenced by an earlier generation of abstract filmmakers that included Hans Richter, Viking Eggeling, Walter Ruttmann, and Fernand Léger, whose work he discovered while living in Europe. Breer was also influenced by the concept of Neo-plasticism as described by Piet Mondrian and Vasarely." (Wikipedia)

It just floated into my mind.

I've always been fascinated by symbiotic lifeforms and sea life, so why not paint both? The main idea in this piece is the relationship between them. The anemone/slug creature offers protection and nourishment while the crustacean/insect one provides mobility and a bioluminescence that helps to attract prey.

It's been so long since my last submission that I should be ashamed of myself, but I can assure you that just because I haven't been posting it doesn't mean that I haven't been practicing! I still have a long way to go but at least I feel that I'm making progress. So if I may ask you, please do leave me a comment if you feel like doing so. Any critique, comment or random thought is already a huge help to me!

that's all for now! See you guys later!

FLOAT - LONG EXPOSURE - ESPOO - FINLAND - 2014

The infamous Homecoming, 1968 float from the other side. "Grayson-Field-Dickinson" refers to the three dorms in the Orchard Hill quad that worked together on the float. A friend of mine asked if I had a view from the other side that showed a spelling error and yes, you can see it. I won't mention any names to protect the (not so) innocent.

Victoria Inner Harbour

Went to the skatepark with some friends this weekend to do some more photos for my new series I am working on, on levitation/floating. More to come!

This frozen parade float features a giant rotating snowflake that turns as the wheels move! It’s accompanied by waving yeti, a polar bear, a snowman, and an ice queen. And what better way to pull an ice-themed float than an ice cream truck!

I built this for @lolugclub’s parade float challenge, and I was inspired by the 70804 Ice Cream Machine and the collectible minifigures.

The bed from the Float collection sports modern geometric lines, making it a neat centerpiece for your bedroom set.

Iceland (Icelandic: Ísland) is a Nordic European island country situated at the confluence of the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The country has a population of about 320,000 and a total area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), which makes it the most sparsely populated country in Europe. The capital and largest city is Reykjavík, with the surrounding areas in the southwestern region of the country being home to two-thirds of the country's population. The nation's capital is the most northern capital in the world. Iceland is volcanically and geologically active. The interior consists mainly of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains and glaciers, while many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle.
