yospyn.com - This was actually taken outside, on a hungover and sticky humid 5th of July. Lighting is an on-camera ringflash (1/32) and a Nikon SB800 (1/2) behind subject, although with all this wattage you can still see heavy falloff on both sides of my head. Shot using an ND filter at 28mm and 1/250 f/8.

A fresh pineapple in Rembrandt lighting. While shopping in Costco, they had fresh pineapples and I thought, "That would make a good subject." So I spent the next 15 minutes in the store looking for the best one to photograph. The other shoppers likely thought me a little weird as multiple pineapples were studied carefully before selecting this one. When getting home I spent the next hour playing with light modifiers. You see?, the pineapple is like a human head, so this was a good exercise for portrait photography. And if you are going to make a photograph of a pineapple, why not set up to make a good one?
