The Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse at night, illuminated by camera flash. Home of the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum.
I never use the flash on my camera because it looks so horrible. So I was experimenting tonight with a piece of white cardboard held at an angle in front of my pop-up flash, to angle the light off the ceiling and make it less harsh.
These are some of the results. I'd say it's reasonably successful, especially for free. The cardboard piece has a strip of Velcro around it, so I just wrap it around the flash housing and it holds it in place. Doesn't look very classy, though.
Flash is 14 years old, blind and has had diabetes the past 2 years, but he still acts like a puppy and is full of life.
No news is good news? I took a whole bunch of pictures in the beautifully painted bathroom at 111 Minna. I'll post more later.

I was hit with a real surprised, I was Phillip Bombed, I am super excited to have a friend show up and engage in a little adventure, where it may lead you to a boat in Beautiful San Diego Harbor, where a brilliant opportunity presented itself for me to experience the process of setting up lighting in tight quarters. It was super cool.
My goal was to use one flash and play with balancing the Natural light and flash.

I went to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh yesterday with my friend Andy and played around with remote flash in the dull light. Quite happy with the results considering the brisk breeze we had.
Delightful time had by this family feeding a goat with carrot at the mobile farm. All the animals were very tame, even the lambs enjoyed being stroked.
The sky way a very textured overcast. But you can't just take a picture of the sky. I was thinking of this when I took it. (Mine's just not as good.)
