My improvised "tri-flash" mount. I'm thinking I needed more horse power for today's shoot so here is what I came up with.

After looking at the first edit a few times I was'nt happy with the contrast in the wall behind her, so in this edit i've upped the contrast and clarity in the wall.
For the origional shot i used the onboard flash defused with kitchen roll, a trick my college tutor taught me. I'm buying an sb900 in the next week or two so i'm learning allot about off camera flash at the min.
I was going to replace the pic but could'nt bring myself to do it for some reason.??
Speed notches at the top, Charging Lever at 2:00, Flash Terminal at 4:00, and Cable Release at 10:00. The problem is with the Cam Follower at the 6:00 position. I love simple construction. If not for taking photos, and a slightly recalcitrant lens element, I wouldn't have had ten minutes into this job yet.
Camera: Pentax K1000
Film: FujiFilm Superia X-tra 400 ASA

Flash! in a completely dark room. I guessed the focal length and aperture and shot it on bulb with my new favourite bulb flash technique: click-flash-release all in about a quarter of a second.
I had a bit of a battle with my scanner which tried to colour correct the image away from red.
I got o-flash(ringflash adaptor) to test from my work buddy. This adaptor was originally made for 430ex(??) but the size of sb-600 is quite same.
...My first intrest was to test how enormous light loss this adaptor has.... quite big as you can see... even +4 ev in lr didn't help(not shown) . Maybe the grey cardboard reflector inside the adapter doesn't work so well :)
Camera: iso 100, f22, ca.35mm
Flash: 1/1, 35mm manual setting(sb-600)
distance from wall ca. 2m
60" Convertible Umbrella
Sunpak 322 (probably full power)
Cactus v4
Pentax K10
Pentax DA 35/2.4 (probably)
This switch is used to put the microcontroller in flash mode, so a new version of OnStep can be uploaded to the controller. It is now in run mode (switch to the right).
Canon rangefinder with IR flash bulb. Canon was my first passion for vintage flash photography. This is the first picture in a row of 10, showing Canon cameras with all sorts of flash bulbs.
Strobist setup: SB-900 with a CL umbrella softbox camera left. SB-800 bare behind model camera right. Triggered with Skyport + optical. ND filter for 3 stops to turn the day into night.
from left to right Vivitar 3900, Nikon SB80-dx, Sunpak 611, Sunpak 522. At top Vivitar 5000
strobist info... electrons shot at nearly the speed of light into a rotating disk of heavy metal which creates photons of x radiation passed through the objects showing up the various densities within as various shades of black and white.

When you hear the click, the contacts switch, and the LED turns on and off.
I wanted to experiment with a different way of setting a stone. I thought this labradorite would be perfect. The color is just absolutely amazing, I had never seen this color of labradorite before. I've mostly seen the blue colors, which there is a hint. I keeps me so intrigued every time I pick up this ring.
Picturesque Sprotbrough Flash is one of the richest wildlife sites in South Yorkshire. A mosaic of open water, wetland, woodland and limestone grassland, the site offers a year-round treat for wildlife enthusiasts.
Last Sunday I spent the day with master flash man Adam Bronkhorst, mastering the art of creative flash lighting.

"Friends uke nited" flash mob in Gloucester city centre this afternoon. They were introduced by Gloucester's Town Crier (and world's loudest town crier!) Alan Myatt and started off by playing 'Jingle Bells', getting everyone in the Christmas spirit.
