I think I saw a Camellia with leaves like this at UBCBG, but I don't have it listed as one I've posted. I see one called Fishtail Camellia, Camellia japonica 'Kingyo-Tsubaki' and it's on the UBCBG list. Surely that's what this is. It's very cute.

This is another detailed observational study of two mackerel fishtails, which I drew using color pencils. I found it much easier to capture the rough, ribbed texture of the fishtails using color pencils than oil paint, and I was also able to capture more of the scaly texture of the fish's body.
