Just as Julie's Snack Bar on Dovercourt Road kept a previous owner's Coca-Cola signage, here on Claremont Street we find another.
While this property had been a grocery store for decades, it now seems to be either a professional concern or a residential space.
Still, the frontage retains the 1958 Coca-Cola Arciform or "Fish Tail" sign containing the previous business name.
The grocery first opened in 1919 by one Louis Cohen and by the time Miguel Melo took over the business in 1967, this store had only three previous owners.

Here's a photo of my old 1960's M65 Fishtail Parka. It keeps me warm on these cold winter's mornings when I ride my Vespa. It is such a versatile, iconic, jacket. It is a bit large for me... I bought it that way so that I could put a suit, or at least a blazer, on underneath and so ride my Vespa to meetings with faculty etc. at the University.

My hair's actually light brown. VIRGIN HAIR (: I have never dyed it, straightened it, highlighted it, or anything.
When we (me and 2 other friends) reached Ghandruk (Nepal) after a 6 hours trek, it was pitch black dark. We had reached our destination but had now clue how the view around us would be.
Come morning and surprise! 6.30AM I walked out the lodge (traditional village home) this was the view outside. Missing to the left is the Annapurna mountains.

The picturesque town of Ghandruk sits at 2020m with scenic backdrops of Annapurna South (7219m) and Hiunchuli (6441m). Notice the CPN Maoist graffiti on the hut. These pics were taken in 2005 while Maoist rebels were in the midst of a civil war with the Nepalese government to establish an independent Communist state. We never really felt threatened during our trek through these Maoist controlled areas although we were extorted $15US to support this "Nepalese Revolution".
