No filter. Just the amazing sunrise and fishing lift nets of the lagoon. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Filtresiz. Sadece gündoğumu ve lagünün her yerine yayılmış Thai geleneksel balık ağları. BeNowMeHere, Phatthalung, Thailand, 2019 via 500px bit.ly/2VO83B2
All geared up and ready to go out on the bay and hopefully catch enough for dinner. Taken early March when the word went around that the Whiting were running!
I have come to this beach over a dozen times, I have done my best to find something else to focus on! The sky was really cooperative last night!
Kaptai Lake is a beautiful blue man-made watery lake. The size of this Lake is approximately 11000 square kilometer, which was created as a reservoir when the Kaptai dam was built during the 1960. This amazing Lake was created by flooding valleys and plain lands between numerous hills all around the Lake. Kaptai has Bangladesh’s only hydro-electric project. The Kaptai Dam on the Karnaphuli River created for this purpose resulted in the Kaptai Lake. This created a charming view as forested hills and plateaus rise from beneath the beautiful Lake water.
A stretch of road connects the tourist spots of Rangamati and Kaptai. The road goes deep into the hill tracts and displays the natural beauty and wildlife of the district Rangamati. The government of Bangladesh run Tourism Corporation and many private operators offer Kaptai Lake Cruise Tours, which is worth of it. Other scenic spots are also accessible through the waterways. Cruising on the Kaptai Lake is an enjoyable way of observing the landscape as many great picnic spots, natural landmarks and historic monuments are accessible only by boats.

A small fishing village along the river in the area of Ca Mau province, VietNam. People here live a very simple life. Friendliness and hospitality is what I said about the people here.

The characteristic huge fishing nets (the so-called "retoni") that can be found at the mouth of the Arno river create a suggestive scenario, especially in cold winter months. It is as if time has come to a standstill, the palafitte huts remain as proof of the tradition of Pisa fishermen: fish is sold fresh.
The nets themselves are in fact not coloured. The vibrant colours come from so-called “vispluis” (Dutch word). Vispluis, only used in Holland and Belgium, (translation: +/- fishing fluff) is the name used for the orange, green or blue plastic threads that are placed in bunches under bottom fishing nets. The bunches of plastic threads act as a buffer between the bottom and the net, protecting the net from wear.
Photo taken in Ostend, Belgium.
Once the big net is raised, a second net with an extra long handle is used to scoop up the morning catch from the Thale Noi or “Little Sea” in southern Thailand.

Nets chinese
Cochin (India) - Any photographer-traveler who is in Cochin (Kerala), feels obligated to take the "traditional" picture of nets Chinese. I have not deviated from the rule. One evening, at sunset, I benefited from this sublime natural light.
For the record, these squares would have been imported by Chinese merchants around the years 1350-1450. They are found all over the world operating on the same principle, especially in France.
Today these fishing nets made up of wooden supports, ropes, pulleys and counterweights have become a real tourist attraction and the unofficial emblem of the former Dutch enclave.
For a few rupees, the fishermen offer to activate the system. But don't kid yourself, even though these nets are still in use, they only catch a few fish. The real catches are made offshore by fishermen working in motor boats.
