I was missing my family back in India a lot more than usual, tonight. It's hard living so far away from the people you love. I haven't seen them in forever, so while they are family, it's almost as if we're strangers :(
My nephew Robert was helping my Dad (his Grandpa) with some of the construction work in our new laundry room today. Robert was marking places in the non-support wood beams (framing for the drywall) that needed to be notched out to fit around pipes, etc. These are some of his "notches".

Mom and Dad, looking adorable, while Dad takes a break from the manual labor at our house.
When this picture was taken, Mom had just returned from a Caribbean cruise with one of her friends. One of *my* friends refers to this photo as "Beauty and the Beast," with Mom all coiffed and Dad in his workman's best.

Jet waits for me to let her out of her car-cage. (She is too rowdy in the car and needs to be confined; otherwise, she would cause me to veer off the road in a dangerous fashion.)

A few nights ago we had an electrical emergency in our house which necessitated a visit from our friendly neighborhood firemen. All was well after much heat-imaging and investigating, as well as a visit from an incredibly knowledgeable electrician.
Of course, we had to reset all our electric appliances, etc. This is what the microwave was blinking when I went to set its clock.
