For the record, the kitchen is not normally this messy. We are renovating the pantry and all items formerly housed in the pantry are now strewn about the kitchen in a slovenly fashion. This project will (must!) be complete before our Australian friends arrive in a few weeks....

(This is one of the ornaments that was on my "bedroom tree" when I was little, and it is precious. I still hang it every year, so I did perform some emergency superglue surgery. The procedure seems to have gone well.)

This is part of the cake that I made for my younger nephew's 4th birthday, per his request. He asked for King Boo riding in the Piranha Prowler, from the Wii MarioKart game, and this is the Piranha Prowler. (Well, sort of the Piranha Prowler. As close as I could get using my car-cake pan.)
My nephew said he "really wanted to challenge me" with his 4th birthday cake. That is a quote.
