Our apartment was in the basement with the entry door in the center, just beyond the back-end of the car. We had a very small kitchen, a living room, bedroom, and a very small bathroom. We have fond memories of the royal blue kitchen cabinets. It was HOME, and we enjoyed life there until a College Courts apartment became available. We rented the place from Jim Smith, who also ran Jim Smith's Cafe in Stillwater. We lived there in 1954; this photo was taken on a visit to Stillwater in 1982. Alas, the place is now a parking lot for a new apartment house!!

He was very impatient and did not want to wait until the ganache had set. But I think it's because he was tired and wanted to go home to bed.

We had an unfortunate mishap with the third layer. No matter; this cake is a little unwieldy (and almost too rich!) with three layers. Two served our fat selves just fine, thank you very much.

That's me when I first became a housewife. That's also my first owned home.
That picture was taken in 1999.
Sister feared that it was going to take me eight hours to supreme the citrus for this salad; I am unsure why she was so concerned because it took, like, 20 minutes. Perhaps she doesn't have the correct equipment and/or knife skillz.
