Before our first tour that started on 05 December 1996, the three coaches that we had hired from the NRZ Museum in Bulawayo and been overhauled by the railway and at my request we took a test run from Bulawayo to Cement station and back to make sure that the mechanical equipment was operating correctly. We are seen here having arrived at Cement, prior to the locomotive running around and our return.
The coaches were private saloon 754 (closest to locomotive), buffet car 680 and first class coach 1045.

My first try. I didn't use a stand, so there is some blur in some part of it. I'm very satisfied otherwise :)

The first time I've been cried my eyes out with joys and worries alike when receiving the job offer letter!
I was soooo excited and proud of myself, all my efforts and his were not wasted! then I looked forward to a brighter future, better and interesting working environment. Finally, I can say to myself that I'm confident to my abilities and what I am going to do!
That's extremely strange why I cried for sorrows more than happiness.
Because I cannot have it, I know I will be out sooner or later for an unexpected reason which is not my fault. I feel like losing everything, my hope for life, my motivation and strength.
I just wonder WHY ME?

ひとつ(”HITOTSU”) means “One” which is the first number of all but also mean “United” in Japanese.
Our action might be a little “one” to start with, but we can get together and become “ONE” to make a difference.

My first assignment as a newspaper photographer was to shoot the grand opening of an Ethan Allen furniture store. I could not capture the image I wanted because at that time, I only had a 200mm telephoto lens and a 50mm normal lens. A chaperone mirror helped me get the wide-angle subject coverage I needed.
I was pleased that my city editor was pleased with my image.
I immediately invested in a wide-angle lens.
This image was shot on Kodak Tri-X with a 50mm lens on a Miranda Sensorex 35mm SLR in the summer of 1968.
Bit of a rubbish photo, but this is the first flower that I have been able to find in our garden this year!

First Aberdeen Wright StreetDeck Hydroliner number 39712 (SV70BXA) pictured at the company's King Street depot on 16/7/2024. Many of these buses were out of service at the time due to problems with the Hydrogen supply and so several diesel buses had to be drafted in from Glasgow!!
Landscape photography on an overcast day is never my favourite, but by the time I had finally reached this high point after a few hours of uphill hiking, I was determined I would not only take a photo but would post it no matter what, LOL! You can just see the western end of the first of four lakes. From this point on, the trail traversed a rocky mountain side - never my favourite to walk on - and I was just too exhausted to climb down to these lakes and then back up again before a few more hours of hiking down to the cars in the parking lot. The height gain from the beginning of the trail to the pass is 450 metres.
LOL, just read the following words in Gillean Daffern's book, "Kananaskis: Country trail guide":
".... Shortly, the trail turns due north and you drag yourself up a hot, dry, shaley hillside to the pass". All was true (except, thankfully the "hot") and "drag" was a most appropriate word. I've also just read on some website a young guy's comment that this is a "short, easy hike". A good job I didn't read his comment before doing this hike : )
