I'm beginning to think it doesn't matter where I end up, there's always a local connection to be made!!
Due to having the suitcase with me this morning, I decided against the lengthy walk into work, instead opting for the bus, in my case the cross-town 5 which seems to run with any Trident/Cummins based deckers spare.
I was amazed to find that the Enviro 400 I had this morning still had remains of it's Leicester 54 branding nearly two years since it left the area when the Streetdecks were introduced!!
33551 exits Basildon Bus Station with a 5 to Langdon Hills via Basildon Hospital and Laindon.
My first chance to capture some noctilucent cloud this year, here's hoping its a good season and that the weather improves, not used to wearing my thermals in June

Restoration of this historic building has started!
History and more info as follows:
"Since 1829, the First Baptist Church has been a visual and historic landmark in downtown New Bedford; the intact Greek Revival Meeting House anchors one of the four corners of City Hall Square. Its towering steeple was a landfall for whaling ships returning to port and remains an icon today. The Church is known nationally for one of its former members, Lt. Henry Martyn Robert of “Robert’s Rules of Order” fame, as it was at a raucous meeting at the church where the need for such rules became clear. With support from the Waterfront Historic Area League and the City of New Bedford, the current congregation is exploring a partnership with a prominent local theatre company in which each would call the church home and share in the building’s stewardship. This creative partnership is a model for the challenge faced by thousands of congregations across the country who are caring for significant buildings in need of extensive work.
Originally constructed in 1829, and modified in the 1840s and 1850s, the First Baptist Church remains a fine example of Greek Revival architecture. Of the four steeples illustrated on the City’s seal, the First Baptist steeple is the only one that survives. The Church is nationally and even internationally known as the place where “Robert’s Rules of Order” was established. After moderating a particularly chaotic meeting at the church about defending the City’s port, church member Lt. Henry Martyn Robert forever changed how meetings are run around the world through his Rules of Order. Early pastors, including Reverend John Girdwood, are linked to the abolitionist movement, although additional research is required in this area."

My first snow experience in UK!
I've been checking the weather for days and I was worried and excited at the same time with the snow forecast. I woke up before 7AM and get dressed to run to the park with my camera while everyone is still asleep and the snow is undisturbed.
I was surprised to see 2 ladies with their dogs at the park having fun. It was cold and the heavy snow makes it difficult to take photos but nonetheless, it was fun!

snow managed to finally melt.
Spring was not delayed here in Boston.
First spring flowers penetrated through the grassy field,
and I had to capture its beauty...
The fact that an abandoned waterpark like Blub Berlin exists in the middle of Berlin-Neukölln came to us a surprise. We already visited a few abandoned places in Berlin but we never explored anything so easy to enter and close to the city. Supposedly, back in the ’90s, Blub used to be the coolest water park Berlin ever saw but nowadays the place feels more like a weird Mad Max water park than anything else.
With Dorchester Road closed from Manor Roundabout, both the 10 and 2 are currently on diversion via the southern end of the relief road. Here 69548 heads towards Weymouth from Dorchester.
Whilst I was out having a walk after work in Colchester, I managed to clock a First bus with what looked like a former First train!?
32485 waits for a Greater Anglia Class 321 to pass on the East Street Level Crossing on the edge of the town with a 75 to University of Essex via Greenstead.

OH she was tiny and sweet and SO GOOD FOR ME.
This is my first time using a "bowl" and then my cocoon (seperate image). I don't care how often others use it, I love them! I'm glad I bought them. I just wish I could have got her naked and on her tummy. This was done at the end and she was OUT and DONE. She did so well, though!

I took this photo around 1950, with my Dad's Kodak camera and as you can see, I still had a lot to learn, eg. composition, framing and focussing!
The hand on my brother's shoulder is to keep him there as he was not particularly keen to be photographed. Neither was my Dad, judging from his expression and the fact that he carried on smoking. He was probably worried about his camera in my hands. My Mum looks a bit doubtful but at least she's trying to smile. : )
The nights are fair drawing in, wont be long before the northern horizon descends back into darkness. Not 100% sure this is a Perseid, but it was one of many that I viewed last night.

First Baptist Church, Columbus, Indiana.

Columbus, Indiana is a small town of about 45,000 people and is sometimes referred to as the "Athens of the Prairie". The American Institute of Architects ranked Columbus 6th in the nation for architectural innovation and design, right behind New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco and Washington, DC.
This started with the efforts of J. Irwin Miller part of the Cummins family of Cummins Engine fame which is located in Columbus. In 1954, Miller established the Cummins Foundation and in 1957 made an offer to Columbus that the foundation would pay all the architects fees for new public buildings in Columbus. Thus this small Midwestern city has buildings by Eero Saarinen, Eliel Saarinen, I.M. Pei, Kevin Roche, Richard Meier, Harry Weese, César Pelli, Gunnar Birkerts, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, many of which feature extensive interiors designed by Alexander Girard. There are now about 80 architecturally significant buildings in Columbus.
I only got to spend a few hours in Columbus and did not get to see all of them. Hopefully, I will be able to return and spend more time there. If you are interested in the architecture of Columbus there is a YouTube video by the Indianapolis Museum of Art that presents a great overview.

You’ve seen the chickens circulating the interwebs? Well - now you’ve seen a 2 day old duckling doing it! 😂 Quarantine crazies have clearly taken over. And we have been locked down so long we had time to incubate a clutch of Silver Appleyard ducks - we have 5 healthy babies! If we don’t get a few more girls we’ll probably do another run, too. We have nothing but time these days...
