In the early hours of December 17th I headed out to photograph the Subway in the first snowstorm of the season, winter storm Gail. The storm turned out to be a record one, blanketing the city in 8 to 12 inches of powder (depending on the location within the vast city); the most in a single storm since 2016.
Here, a Coney Island-bound (N) train is approaching 8th Ave station - the first above-ground station since the line's split from the 4th Avenue subway and naturally my first stop.

This beautiful rose called my name from a long distance. It taught me how to take pictures for roses. You should first smell the beauty, then capture it!
And to close out the First Leeds photos from that day in late January, we are now up to a total of four B7TLs in Leeds, with this final one, sadly, having been among those pushed out by the Streetdecks later that year. Oh for sure, the Streetdecks may be better all around from the passenger - and possibly enthusiast - perspective, but personally, its a shame I never came across any more from the batches I photographed that day. There aren’t exactly many left in easy reach from the Leeds area. Admittedly, though, it is strange how the 06-plates are disposed of compared to the 04-plates - but really, what First OpCo really wants Leeds’ oldest double decker buses? Time will tell when the B7TL will finally bow out at First Leeds.
The last First photo to upload from Leeds in January 2018, and possibly the last B7TL photo I have from there, First Leeds’ 37023, a 2006 Volvo B7TL Wright Eclipse Gemini now operating with First Eastern Counties, is seen here departing Leeds bus station on a 6 to Holt Park with a destination that has only barely captured on camera.

Oh, the haircut is a 1/2" Gaurdcomb lamb clip with a short teddy bear face. Round the ears to the leather and trim tail. :3
A panorama of the Tetons being illuminated with the morning's first light. I was enjoying this view at an elevation of 6800 feet. The visible peaks in this image of the Tetons include South Teton, Middle Teton, Grand Teton, Mount Saint John, Mount Woodring, Mount Moran and Traverse Peak. All of the mentioned peaks are over 11,000 feet, while 4 are over 12,000, with the tallest being Grand Teton at 13,776 ft.

First York's Wright StreetDeck Electroliner 36509 MF23ZVW is pictured outside York Railway Station, operating a Service 4 to Acomb Tudor Road, on March 16th 2024.
The last few days have brought out the butterflies at long last, going from swans to insects with the same equipment in the same session is a bit of a tester, but the four feet min focus of this lens let you get in close (three feet from front of lens). Using a macro would have it's problems getting in close without frightening the subject. This is the first small speckled wood seen in our area this year.
