Went to the Newark Show and the fire men were letting the children sound the horn. Asked if I could have a go as have always fancied that. Had the horn going, siren blasting and flashing blue lights! Terrific - scared everyone to death. Talk about power!!

This fire was the natural celebration of Labor Day, today, September 6, 2010. It started at around 10:00 a.m. and who knows when it's going to be controled.
Oxford Broad Street hosted 'Luminox', some craziness with fire installations and live world music and crepe stalls. It was pretty awesome.
Fire island is a barrier island, a thin line along the coast, 32 mile long and from tenth of a mile to half a mile wide.
I'm deeply grateful for to the Fire Tribe for allowing me to capture their craft. Most photographers focus on the benders, this turn around I focused on the fire.
Who needs trash cans? We have found the best way to dispose of old stuff we don't want is to Burn it....baby burn it.

First day of the 366 project for 2012. Gulp!

This big log lasted for several fire sessions in my back yard. During one session with several friends and my girlfriend, a close relative unexpectedly showed up. He was fond of guns, and pulled out a 38 Special and fired a round into the log. The report was deafening; everyone scattered to the winds including the relative. Several years later I discovered the gun in its moldy holster while cleaning out a cabinet in the laundry room. After unloading it, I returned it to him.
