While hanging out at my parents, used my new lens to take some shots of the fire my Dad built to keep us warm.
It's cold in NJ.
The Chief Fire Officer of Bolton Herbert Bentley (pictured centre) was my Great Granddad and to the right the little boy is my Grandad Harold who went on to join the fire brigade too. Reginald Bentley my Granddads brother also went on to become the Chief fire Officer of Bolton. Herbert was CFO from 1911-1933 and Reginald was CFO from 1948-68. In December 1913, Bolton's first motorised fire engine arrived. I'm guessing the picture was taken in the early 1920's.
The Blue Light Brigade were out in force in Worthing today ... until they were suddenly swamped by Turkish anti-war protestors!
xD I love Avatar.
The movie kinda looks like it might be disappointing though. :( I heard they changed a lot of things.
Residents of an old motel in Selma, CA cry as they watch their home burn. Over 50 people are homeless because of the fire.
The sign says "Notice Fire Door Keep Closed." They were all open, ever last one of 'em. Being in this old warehouse, with no working lights, you get some very intense shadows on such a bright day.
Las comparsas son desfiles tipicos que se realizan durante la epoca navideña, en el departamento de Boyaca - Colombia. Aqui una representacion impresionante de teatro callejero en el aguinaldo de Miraflores - Boyaca.
This picture was taken about 4 hours after the main fire started. The first buildings were destroyed (both unoccupied either under construction or newly constructed) but by the time this photo was taken the fire had spread to occupied apartment buildings. This picture was taken from about a block away in the older part of town. These ladder trucks were pouring water on the destroyed structures trying to keep the smoldering ruins from reigniting. There were firetrucks and firemen EVERYWHERE
Fire Exit @ Audio Glasgow January 28th 2018
Pretty “Damned” Good Cake…
Paisley punk band Fire Exit along with The Media whores, Red Eyes, Threat, Shock and Awe and Blacklist celebrated Lawrie Kennedy’s birthday at Audio Glasgow Pre Damned punk gig that went down a storm.
Though non of the legendary 70s punk band The Damned managed to make it along to the gig, as they themselves where playing at the O2. Audio’s was jumping and more so when Fire Exit took to the stage to finish off what was a fantastic show.
But instead of leaving only to return to the chats of we want more and their final encore. Fire Exit singer Gerry ushered onto the stage Lawrie’s two girls who entered stage right carrying a birthday cake to a massive round off applause from the audience.
You know what! not many in the business can say they blew out birthday candles as part of their encore to a cheering audience and finishing off what was a fantastic show, which other wise would have been a dull rainy Sunday afternoon in Glasgow..
