Finally I started to shoot. During this time I was very busy and I could not devote time to photography. it was a very bad period.
I discovered this new place close to home, so I went in the morning, at dawn, to do some self. The sky that morning was a sight, thankfully.
I want to start doing self now that I have more time :)
37901 'Mirlees Pioneer' may have been out for a while but this is the first time Ive managed to fott it since reactivation.
The trainload metals 'Siphon' is seen at East Goscote with 465905 and 466010 behind heading for scrap as 5Q65 Ely to Kingsbury
Finally got some better weather over the last few days and managed to get use of a car.
Was grateful for the wide angle lens as the sun was setting almost out of the shot. This groyne is labelled number 4 hence the title.
Had great light last night too and now the rain and wind are on for the next few days.
After waiting for 1-2 hours early this morning for the fog to clear .. it eventually did, and I spent a further 2 hours taking photos ... A long day, but worth it :)
I am dripping wet...not an easy job...curses on barbie! she put a spell on these shoes, i am sure of it!!
... the last 'lockdown' image for this folder .. I hope I never have to add to it again ..
I hope this messing around has helped out folks dealing with the Doldrums we've been trapped in.

After getting shut out at Glacier Point for a number of years, I was finally rewarded with some great light on my last visit. I started shooting as soon as the first bit of color stole across the sky and eventually the entire Western end of the valley was lit up. The irony here was that I was hoping there would be few to no clouds on this particular trip as I was there to shoot the Milky Way, along with quite a few other photographers. As I set up my tripod, I overheard a park ranger giving a lecture behind me on where the Milky Way WOULD be if you could, in fact, see it. I was starting to feel pretty depressed at this point as I had made multiple trips to Glacier point without much to show for it. Two summers ago I was smoked out by a huge fire, last year too many clouds for the Milky Way, and multiple trips in between with no sunset or sunrise. As I stared sulkingly off into the horizon, I noticed a faint bit of color in the clouds. Within just a few minutes the entire sky had lit up and the poor ranger was left with only a handful of people as the crowd moved en masse to the railing and began shooting like mad.
The Milky Way was a no show that night, but at least I walked away with my first decent sunset at Glaicer Point in four years. I'll be headed back to try the Milky Way at least one more time this year, so fingers crossed!

As seen in the previous photograph, this chair has needed a new seat cover for a long time. I thought I'd show the cute fabric print and give a shoot-out to Spoonflower.com. You choose a pattern and then they print it on the type of fabric you select. I think the sturdy cotton I picked gives it a feeling of vintage barkcloth.
After I filled the holes in the seat, I added "elbow patches" of linen over the areas the cats liked scratching the best--to slow down future damage--before the final fabric covering.
After trying to get this shot at Lemoyne for a good long while, G840-24 makes it happen as they roll east on the C&O with a standard cab GE leading the way.
On a totally unrelated note, there was a locomotive phone wrapped around the code line to my right that had been ripped out and thrown.
The Arizona "Nonsoon" finally turned into a Monsoon!
The sky was starting to turn dark as I stuck my head outside yesterday afternoon, and the clouds were building up.
I ate a quick dinner then grabbed the gear and headed out. Went to a spot that I thought might be good and waited for the sun to go down. Once it was starting to dip below the horizon the storm started to kick in. I was able to get this shot and one other before the rain started pouring down on me in biblical proportions!
Hopefully this storm will be the catalyst that gets our proper monsoon season started.
Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and the fall colors have finally appeared in full force here in Nova Scotia.

So I made a mistake on Flickr. I was going renew my pro account anyways and noticed Flickr was offering it half off for me and I accidently hit cancel my subscription. Whoops.
WooHoo! Today we went and got some beautiful Pixie Lillys and after watering them, I decided to snap some photos of the water droplets. Well, I was just pleased as punch when I uploaded and saw this beauty. I love the water droplet and what looks like the reflection of the orange/yellow pixie lilly and the little flashes there too! I just love love love this shot! I know it is not the clearest of clear, but I'm thrilled! I finally got a shot of a water droplet with a reflection inside! Yay!!!!

It's been cloudy skies and/or no lights for weeks now, but this evening mother nature sent us a feast for the eyes!
I do love to take pics during fall. It's not my FAVORITE time of year, but NO ONE can deny the smell of a camp fire, warm apple cider, pumpkin donuts, and fleece blankets! Sharing all of that with a friend... no wonder it's a favorite season for so many.
