Now the crane base gets it's footing.

Brilliant orange cosmos at the local community gardens yesterday afternoon.

This is a lovely rural site, friendly staff, friendly locals, not outrageously expensive and a nice place to fill up. The lady who runs the place makes the best flapjack I have ever tasted, now there's a recommendation!

Richard has a photo of this place taken in 2015 when it looked exactly the same, see below. As he says, it looks like a former Shell site. He didn't have that annoying speck of dust on his lens though! There's an image of the garage from 2011 on Geograph.org where the pole sign had a different design but still looked like a former Shell sign.

I went back to this place a couple of days later to buy more flapjack and to take some more photos, they will follow in a few week's time!

Note, I took this photo on the way back later in the day when the speck of dust had been discovered and removed!

Union Pacific # 672 (GP38) stops at a gas station for a fill up in 1999 on the Tidewater Southern Railroad. The crew had stopped to pick up their coffee. Today the gas prices are at least double those shown here. The Tidewater Southern was orginally an Inter urban electrified railroad until in 1932. The line closed on this stretch in 2001 to remove the street running through Modesto.

This photo was taken for the Macro Mondays theme "Fill the Frame".

Talking about natural wonders.. One doesn't have to venture far to be able to see those.. Little macro lens and you can find them right in your own back yard.. :D

Apart from the expected Hot Wheels modifications, this is actually quite a decent and unexpected model of the infamous 1960's Amphicar Model 770. Part of the excellent Flying Customs range which briefly filled the shelves of Poundland a few months ago. Mint and boxed.

I didn't really need two photos of the E1 in the same location but on my return to Ealing 2450 posed nicely. Next up was VW1568 to Ealing Hospital for TE1995 and 1996 ( which were running almost together) but this went horribly wrong when 1996 arrived late and was inexplicably sent light all the way to Brent Park by the controller! Refusing to be defeated, I came back for it later....9/2/16

No fill and just a little card for a hair light. I love beauty dish lighting. Especially on faces like this. The deep shadows are so lovely and the poppy light makes the face so alive. Notice how the light falls off on the side of the face - the result of no fill cards. If you have a face like this, you can do most anything. You can see the slight rim on the fur and the top of the hair. Tha is from the card. See the movie for exactly how it is done. (BTW... it will certainly show that you don't need a fancy place to work... LOL. Should have cleaned the place up a bit before the video. Sheesh.)

Minimal photoshop.

A little different for today. I liked the color and lines of this ordinary subject. We voted for this one.

The temple of Camellias - Reikanji temple

Reikan-ji is a small temple just above the Philosophy Path only open for brief periods in the year, but very well-known for its beauty of camellias and called "The Temple of Camellias"..So when opening many people visit this temple's garden dedicated to camellias

The temple was founded ,formaly named in 1654 by Imperial princess 多利宮Tarinomiya( 浄法身院宮宗澄尼Johossinin-no-miya-syochuni1639-1678)who was a daughter of the Emperor Gomizuo 御水尾天皇,and her childfood name was Tani-no-miya谷宮 so the the temple has been also called Tani-no-Gosho.(Gosho means Inperial Palace )

The temple still retain the atmosphere and elegant appearance in those days, especially the father Emperor Gomizuo loved camellias ,so this temple has been filled with various types of camellias.
