not to get all foodbloggy, but tonight i made a slightly fancy dinner, which is nice, because i am not an especially fancy person.
broiled, bacon-wrapped filet mignon with sauteed mushrooms and spinach. it's quite a shame i didn't have a potato to bake, but it was super delicious anyway.

Cut up in pieces, with egg batter. Fast fried in oil. Probably in order not to overcook the beef. Served with sauce.

went to pomona valley mining co. for my early 18th birthday dinner with my family tonight. originally was gonna use just the bottom right shot, but I decided i wanted to make a collage out of several shots I liked from tonight, so this is what i came up with.
My plate did not have any disgusting green veggies... just shrooms, onions, bacon, bleu cheese... and a filet mignon.
I made up this crappy version of Beef Wellington that sounded like a pretty interesting thing, but it turns out too much was going on. Starting with bleu cheese (Roquefort!) on top of puff pastry.
TO DIE FOR!!!! Filet mignon with shrip and cream sauce. I know it's not the exact description, but OMG!!! My wife and I split this plate as we also wanted to sample some desert.
