Tungsten Light Bulb Filament

Not finished...still needs a bit of cleanup

Abstract of paint and PVA gel

This shot was taken by breaking a light bulb and photographing the filament as it burns in the air. Normally bulbs are in a to vacuum prevent the filament from burning. By removing the glass and shooting several shots in quick succession I am able to capture this image.

This has to be the most fun i have ever had with a lamp.

Mosaic of an huge filament that was crossing 1/3 of the disc of the Sun. Seeing was terrible, had to resize to make it acceptable.

 

Take a look also at my astronomy video channel.

I love those weird filamenty bulbs. Put them in (basically) a mason jar lamp and a photo was inevitable.

Been wanting to take a photo like this for ages now but was struggling to find a clear filament bulb.

 

The dots around the filament are scratches on the outer glass of the bulb.

 

I used an ND2 + ND4 filter together to bring the shutter speed down to about 1/2000.
