While out to photograph Kingfishers, a scrap developed involving two Cormorant, although it was a long way out, I managed five shots. The funny thing was, although two fighting birds dived, three came back to the surface!
It was only when I loaded my pictures onto my PC, that I saw the fish. The fish is a Pike, and based on the birds wingspan, I estimate it to be 700mm long, which would mean it would have weighed approx. 2.2 to 2.7kg.
The picture quality is not very good, but I though the subject was interesting.

Rangda is the demon queen of the Leyaks in Bali, according to traditional Balinese mythology. Terrifying to behold, the child-eating Rangda leads an army of evil witches against the leader of the forces of good — Barong. The battle between Barong and Rangda is featured in a Barong dance which represents the eternal battle between good and evil. Rangda is a term in old Javanese that means "widow".
She is depicted as a mostly nude old woman, with long and unkempt hair, pendulous breasts, and claws. Her face is traditionally a horrifying fanged and goggle-eyed mask, with a long, protruding tongue.

While raptor-watching yesterday, I was excited when I spotted a juvenile bald eagle in a tree munching on a freshly caught pheasant. While trying to photograph the first bird, a dirty eagle fight broke out in the air right over my head! There were at least 5-7 eagles in total, of (obviously) various morphing stages! It lasted less than a minute before the eldest of the immature birds (pictured here, in the middle) had stolen the treasured goods and flew away screeching. Definitely a day I will never forget! :)
Sometime between the first dog taking hold of her nose and the last shots I took of the remains of her carcass. This poor water buck is being pulled out of the waterhole while the pack feeds on her.

This is brutal! Sitting on my front veranda this morning I heard the honeyeaters going ballistic, then a whole group dropped down in front of the veranda, I had to stay sitting and not move and shoot through the barrier to get these shots or they would have taken off. I didn't even have time to set the camera, they are just record shots of the whole group having a go at one bird although others did start fighting as well, they all eventually gave up and took off including the bruised and battered one..

Watched them for a long time and then they disappeared in the distance, still fighting.

20.03.2024. They were certainly having a good scrap. It went on for quite a while before they decided enough was enough!
Of course they're just playing around.

What was to be my last sight of narrow gauge steam in north eastern China, for on this New Year's Eve 2009 the last coal train of the year has just arrived at Huanan and the wagons were being shunted by 'C2' class 0-8-0 No.041, covered in snow from fighting through snow drifts in Artic-like conditions, at a -33c temperature plus wind chill.

OMG today my camera was fighting with me, could i get the levels sorted could I f maybe we wont go down that route.
Weather was on and off again, just get set up for a shot and sun would come out, recalibrate everything and it would go in again grrrrr. Then it would start to rain. in most of these images today i have a right grumpy look on my face.
Exactly what it sounds like: two adolescent bald eagles squabble over rotting fish in the river shallows.

A fight breaks out between the Belleville Senators and the Cleveland Monsters. Tickets were reasonably priced and the was walking distance from the hotel, which was nice.
