It was raining while taking this shot. Seems like we spent most of our vacation shooting in rain, snow or hail but I loved every minute.

This is a rather poor image technically, and the pylon spoiled everything. So I'm posting temporarily, until I manage to get a better shot. But I like the action and it shows the hardships that eagles have to endure once they catch the fish. I can confirm that the eagle at the top, who caught the fish, was able to fend off his challengers and got to enjoy his lunch.

Let's have a snowball fight

We'll let it go on all night

It's gonna be a wonderful sight

It's Christmas time

Call up the family

We'll have the Wintery world war three

Launching rockets across the street

We'll let 'em fly

Nothing says holiday cheer like ice in your ear

Ho, ho, ho let's have a snowball fight

Susiekins is not happy about cheeky neighbour Lu and the two started to bear their teeth and claws even with the glass barrier dividing them.

I've just got back from spending a long weekend in the company of foxes. It was a fantastic experience and seeing behaviour like this was amazing to see.

It looks far more violent than it actually was, as for most of the time these two vixens were quite happy in each other's company.

Territorial fights become more and more a scene in the local basin. Pictured here two Trumpeter Swans did just that when suddenly one decided the other one got too close. Luckily there was no sore loser at this time, and it ended very quickly as well.

Its in the worst battle that you learn the most.

Go get it, fight for it, you deserve the light to come back.

Happy Blue Monday 😊😊😍

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️

Two White-breasted Waterhens getting into a fight

Chickadee defending it's nesting box from House Sparrow. I don't think the pair has decided that this is the "spot" yet, but they are in and out several times a day. Chickadees are feisty little birds.

On the day that I visited the Eskrigg Nature Reserve several of the birds in the lake got a little aggressive with each other. Maybe it's something in the water.

M316 passes the abandoned hulk of WS Tower, long out of service but still guarding the passage of CSX trains on the old B&O West End. Just ahead lies Kingwood Tunnel and the summit of Newburg Grade. With the long shadows and being on the "dark" side of the train to get the tower in frame, this is a tricky one to get just right. Thanks to burst mode this version with about 95% of the nose lit up meets the "good enough" threshold, as far as I'm concerned. One could wait till the summer months for the sunlight to be more head on here, but they would find that the abandoned tower looks more like a chia pet with all of the vines growing on and around it.

Go ahead! Don't hold back! You can do it! Attack, fight and you will prevail, Big One! You are the majestic king after all. We don't always have to tone down and silence ourselves, this is ours to take! ;)

P.S. Enough resting, Mr. Gentle Lion needs to be allowed to fight for what he wants. Part of my Mr. Gentle Lion series, check out the album. :) Mostly inspired by -ATTIC- Astro Bunny Mage Hat Black!

Shooting the sunset, charmed by it, I got attacked by two seagulls. Turns out, their little one was right behind me. Luckily, no one was harmed.

With three motors on the head-end and four on the rear, in dynamics and brakes set on the coal loads, a Pokey-bound coal train rolls down the old Virginian just south of Slab Fork, WV. With all that power it likely came up from Deepwater, WV.

Joseph Mallord William Turner 1775 - 1851

The Fighting Temeraire, being tugged to her last berth to be broken up, 1838 is an oil painting by the English artist Joseph Mallord William Turner

Painted in 1838 and exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1839. The painting depicts the 98-gun HMS Temeraire, one of the last second-rate ships of the line to have played a role in the Battle of Trafalgar, being towed up the Thames by a paddle-wheel steam tug in 1838, towards its final berth in Rotherhithe to be broken up for scrap.

The painting is displayed in the National Gallery, London. It was bequeathed to the nation by the artist in 1851.

In 2020 it was included on the new £20 note.
