Drea was our third model of the day. This was our third location, in the large fig tree on the grounds of the community hall.
Lighting info: Again, Vivitar 285HV on the ground bounced off a reflector to the camera left, through the trees, at full power.
About the tree: Ficus macrophylla, commonly known as the Moreton Bay Fig, is a large evergreen banyan tree of the Moraceae family that is a native of most of the eastern coast of Australia, from the Atherton Tableland (17° S) in the north to the Illawarra (34° S) in New South Wales, and Lord Howe Island. Its common name is derived from Moreton Bay in Queensland, Australia. It is best known for its beautiful buttress roots, which are also known for damaging municipal footpaths.
I know, another tree photo, but I think these trees are so beautiful, I just can't help myself, I have to photograph them!

A view of the location where three mature Moreton Bay fig trees have been removed to make way for the future Kensington Junction.
One of the things I wanted to show Steve's parents while they were visiting was this carved fig tree. Due to continuing construction at the owners' house, it's behind a fence, so I didn't take any new pictures of the front of it. But the owners happened to be there, checking on the construction progress, and they opened the gate so we could see the opposite side and the owls carved into the upper branches.
My son asked about this quilt and who it was for. I asked him what kind of quilt he would like and he said one with aliens on it! really?!! ok..... little does he know that I actually have fabric with aliens on it! :)
I like this picture: the green color of the young leaves and the aquamarine color of the sea are great.

The fig tree was doing great (seen here), but the stupid cold snap damaged about 75% of the new leaves. Not sure what will become of the little figlets.
