Just a short quote before I leave:
Education makes people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave

Overcast skies that were present all day Tuesday cleared just before sunset and we were treated to fiery skies as the sun set over Lake Michigan behind Frankfort North Breakwater lighthouse at Frankfort, Michigan. I would greatly appreciate a follow if you like this photo.
Another spectacular sunset above the copse at the rear of the house earlier this year. We are fortunate to get a westerley sunset view at the back our property and I can't resist the lure of getting the camera out and snapping the more spectacular ones we get.
The days are drawing out now and lets hope we really have seen the worst of the pandemic now. I do worry about the opening up of the countryside, even though I can now drive out I am reluctant to make the relatively short trip up to the Lakes or Dales just yet. I'd love to go and get the landscapes, but when you look at the infection rates in Cumbria currently I think it would be irresponsible. So I can wait!

at the Little Rann of Kutch.
The Rann of Kutch - in Gujarat in India - spreads over 26,000 square kilometres (10,000 square miles) and is a salt marsh, and when it dries up is one of the largest salt deserts in the world. The Rann - meaning salt marsh - is divided into the Great Rann and the Little Rann.
The Rann is also where most of India's salt is manufactured, in factories like one in the silhouette.
Of a Tulip, Flaming Fire Mix
A distinctive duo-toned!
Fringed, cardinal red tulips and sunny yellow tulip with red flames make quite the statement.
Take care, be safe!

Lots of skippers skipping around the Lantana these hot summer days. This one cracked me up - looked like a jet fighter plane ready for takeoff. My butterfly book confirmed that posture, describing hindwings opened farther than forewings as the "jet-plane position", unique to grass skippers. And is that the cutest little face or what?!!
Antidote for a frigid night. The moon appears full, the sky is clear, the north winds have subsided, and the temperature has already fallen to 5 degrees F. here in upstate NY.
But it's always warm and mellow in Hawai'i...sigh...
Debrecen | Hungary | in the garden of the house
Lilies are the most elegant plants in the gardens, which, when they begin to flourish, dazzle us with their scent and their beautiful flowers. Houses and courtyards with a garden are inconceivable without a beautiful line or bush lilies. Very rare among plants.
Hello Flickrland.... I'm back :)
Standing in the road and against the curb, this Cardinal was looking for seeds and insects.
These birds really stand out, don't they?
I was on the moors at Wessenden Head for sunset and noticed that the grass was taking on the colours of the setting sun in such a vivid way that I simply had to capture them. With hindsight I ought to have gone for a better depth of field but at least this gives you the idea. I haven't adjusted colour at all in this shot.

That's been one of my mantras - focus and simplicity.
Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.
But it's worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.
