A blocked side canyon in the Fiery Furnace area of the Arches National Park

Fiery Furnace is an area where tall sandstone fins form lots of narrow parallel canyons. Some canyons are just wide enough for a person to squeeze through. It is fun to hike, but requires a permit and you need to be careful not to get lost.

Thank you all for taking a look at my images, much appreciated!

A beautiful, fiery red and yellow – somewhat alien, yet also very elegant – lady from Mendocino, California. Captured in morning light on a foggy morning on the California coast.

This flower reminds me of a fire!

Flickr friend Jo told me it is a Rudbeckia, and yes, it seems it is the variety 'Berlin'. It is in my garden but as part of a mix of flowers we sow because they attract insects.

This climbing rose been by the arbor gate for over 12 years.

I do remember this sunset so vividly, which were exactly this colors. Some people just stopped the car, made a quick click at it. :-))

A red Hibiscus

Today we had the hottest day so far this summer about 43C in coastal areas of Sydney, even hotter inland. The Hibiscuses do not seem to mind the heat.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks to everyone who has visited.

I appreciate very much the kind comments and faves which have been left.

Sunset during the forest fire season. There are currently 121 forest fires burning in the NWT. Most are safely away from communities. The smoke coming from these distant fires makes for some amazing sunsets.

Happy Sliders Sunday!
