This 45yr old aircraft first flew for Trans International Airlines in 1973. It has been in operation for FedEx since 1984. Having been manufactured by McDonnell Douglas as a DC-10F, it was later upgraded to a MD-10F, giving a modern glass cockpit and reducing the need for a 3 person flight crew.

A shuffle of Federal Express corporate Challengers in Memphis. Here N24FE is on the move as N21FE waits its turn.
LAX is good for seeing and photographing freighters. On this day I saw no fewer than three FedEx MD11Fs and one FedEx MD10F.
FedEx turns 50 in 2023. This Falcon 20 cockpit section, on the floor of the Greenway Aviation Training Center at Memphis, previously was used as a procedures trainer. It belonged to Falcon 20 N990L (s/n 43). It was purchased by FedEx in 1975 for parts after it was damaged in an accident in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The above image is a scan from an original Kodachromeâ„¢ slide. The default size is 2000 x 1250 pixels, so clicking on the photo will enlarge it for better viewing.
The original image comes from my slide collection, amassed over the past 40+ years. They are a combination of my own photographs and ones acquired over those years.
I created this Photostream in 2017 for the purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, as otherwise they would just remain in binders and boxes, not being enjoyed by anyone, myself included.
Comments are welcome.

I took this photo as the sun was minutes from dropping below the horizon. The winter sunsets here in the Denver area can definitely produce some great "golden hour" light.
