Another attempt at the grasses in the garden with no fence/wall.

This time I made sure that I kept everything unwanted out of the photo.

Viburnum in Regent`s Park.

This is sunset at St Peter's church at Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire, you can see part of the hall in the background.

Had 45 minutes to spare this cold afternoon so off I went to the hide with camera and mug of hot chocolate. Lucky for me the Sparrowhawk decided to stop by and pose for me :)

The birds I photograph are wild birds unless stated, I don't bait the logs for the hawks.

Thank you so much for taking an interest in my photo's your stars and comments are much appreciated.

The few harlequin ducks that still visit the rocky jetty of Barnegat Inlet are a treat to observe. Their high-pitched voices are reminiscent of a squeaking “rubber ducky.” Once more numerous, they are now much harder to find, and some winter visitors to the inlet may not get to see them, at all. This male harlequin takes off after a female at the water’s edge. Both are essentially running on the water.

When photographing waterfowl, it is essential to try to get as close to the water’s surface as possible. The tides, wind, waves, and dangerously slippery conditions of the rocks at the waterline can make this task difficult at best. #Harlequins

While I was out and about crawling around the ground taking snowdrop photos I almost stood on this chap. You can see he's less than half the size of the leaf that he's sat on.

He did jump away as I got closer but stayed on this leaf long enough for me to shoot a few frames off.

Here is another amazing Andean beauty/ The tiny White-bellied Woodstar (Chaetocercus mulsant) is among the world's smallest birds. They average only 7 cm (2,8 inches) in length and are almost insect-like in the way they fly and hover at flowering trees and plants. The White-bellied Woodstar is found in the Andes at 1500 to 2800 meters above sea level in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

The young Sparrowhawk, a regular in the garden and a lovely poser. This is the bird that crashed into a window, so glad to see it suffered no ill effects.

February 28, at Circasia, Quindío, Colombia. Those who are familiar with North American birds might quickly decide that this is a Red-bellied Woodpecker. Although the markings are similar, there would be no confusion in the field because the Red-crowned Woodpecker (Melanerpes rubricapillus) shown here is much smaller than the Red-bellied. The Red-crowned Woodpecker (Melanerpes rubricapillus) is about 20 cm (8 inches) in length while its North American relative (Melanerpes carolinus) is about 26 cm (10 inches in length.

The Red-crowned Woodpecker is resident year-round in its range from Costa Rica to northern South America including, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, and Tobago. It prefers open tropical and subtropical woodlands to altitudes of about 1,700 meters (5,700 feet) above sea level. This bird was photographed at about 1,400 meters (4,700 feet) altitude in Circasia, Quindío, Colombia.

This is the hairdresser's nearest to us and the one I used to use. Sadly one day last year I found it had closed, but taking a better look this morning I noticed that it hadn't been emptied.

I was going to use this as my photo for today, but Graham preferred the one I've used, which I like too.

. . . I really don't want to brag or anything, but I am sure this is the first yard flower picture of spring, even considering my friends across the pond in the UK and the Netherlands!

So while most of my friends are shooting the last ice at Point Betsie and watching guys climb ice in the UP, I am scratching around the yard picking up sticks and leaves, and staking my claim as finding the first flowers of spring on February 18! Top that!! **bragging rights, yeah, high fiving myself!*

Who could believe these things flower in the winter? www.skagitgardens.com/_ccLib/downloads/SG_HelleboreGoldHa...

. . . Empire City Beach is a great place to practice the "Turn Around" Rule of photography! Everyone is so enthralled with the view of Sleeping Bear dunes to the north, they forget to turn around and see Empire Bluffs, even closer and just as tall, to the south!

Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!

Abandoned ... I was determined to have a Happy Window Wednesday shot today. I took this from my front porch, of a house across the street. This is a corner window, although you can't tell with my painting. Wonderful young, Christian man bought this house to flip. It needed way too much work to successfully flip. He lost it and the bank repossessed it. Now, it sits there abandoned, with 3/4 of the work completed. What a shame ...

Happy Window Wednesday!

Siskin blending nicely with the sunlit background.

Thank you for viewing, commenting and adding a star on my pics, much appreciated folk

Et ils les appellent ornements de jardin ...

Another garden with really odd things in it. Most of them are broken and they're all over the place. I can't decide if it's actually artistic or a complete mess.

Un autre jardin avec des choses vraiment étranges. La plupart d'entre eux sont cassés et ils sont partout. Je ne peux pas décider si c'est vraiment artistique ou un désordre complet.
