Thank you for supporting Bersav.
Stayed in a small country hotel in rural Dorset recently and was taken by this display in the entrance. Apart from being imaginative, I thought it creative and appropriate for the often unpredictable English weather!
Not sure if the overall effect would be the same if the items were mounted on a plain wall but the texture and colours of the stone are just right. Great display!

A feature wall of living plants at the side of the stairway makes for a rather impressive entrance.

Just how stunning wallpaper can be! As seen in the Bundanoon Motel (Bundanoon, NSW): this is the room the little girl staying a few doors up from us preferred!
I love the boldness of the decorator who put this room together. It's great to see some interior personality in a motel. It also shows how effective even a simple pattern can be on a feature wall (the rest of the walls were white).

This 'thing' was moving, pulsating and vibrating in weird ways... Took me a few seconds to realise it was a sunbeam reflected off boiling eggs ;)
Last summer, when we were talking about how physical space can convey hospitality, a woman transformed a white wall in our church into something more welcoming. She took down the empty bulletin board and painted a verse from the Gospel of John.
I just had to get a selfie in front of that wall before I move on to my next church. HSS!
Jo Peel's Feature Walls
Location: Wellington Street Car Park.
Artist: Jo Peel
Local artist Jo Peel’s contribution to Feature Walls in the Wellington Street car park.
Her wall mural design may be familiar to you if you found her sculpture, The City Elephant, as part of the Herd of Sheffield earlier in the year.
Snuff Mill Lane, Ecclesall Road, Sheffield.
Mural by Phlegm, 2016.
Phlegm was invited to Sheffield along with 15 other local and international artists as part of the Feature Walls mural event.
Incredible Street Art Illustrations by Phlegm.
Another fantastic wall mural by Phlegm. This one is just off Ecclesall Road on Snuff Mill Lane and was painted in October 2016 for Feature Walls.
Phlegm has cleverly integrated the original street art by Bubba 2000 that could originally be found on this wall into his mural. Bubba’s jumping boy can be seen caged in one of the towers towards the centre of the wall. The security alarms on the wall have also been incorporated into his artwork.
streetartsheffield.com/gallery/phlegms-feature-walls
Born in North Wales and now residing in Sheffield, UK, cartoonist and illustrator Phlegm is well known for his self-published comics and amazing graffiti/street art. Many of the larger-than-life characters that adorn the walls he spray paints originate from his comics.
Much of his artwork is illustration-based, thus his lack of true graffiti-style lettering may lead some to describe his murals/walls as more cartoon-based art. Regardless of what you may categorize his work as, it is unique and intriguing.
I strongly suggest you visit his site and blog for maximum awesome sauce.

A real blast from the past of home and interior decor here - a nicely produced colour catalogue that includes a price list and a smple tile. "Artistic Tyne-plaqs" were a thin, chamfered 4.25" square aluminium sheet, with five small 'link-stick' adhesive pads to the reverse, printed with a range of designs and patterns. Sold in sets and with a minium order of 50 tiles they were produced by Tyneside Printers who obviously had invested in the printing process technology to manufacture these.
The main striking point is the really period, contemporary graphics, colours and patterns available and that are shown in various potential settings such as kitchens and bathrooms, as well as pages showing the whole range of 'sets' - Herb, Bistro, Marina and even, on the back of the famous BBC TV drama the Onedin Line, the Onedin featuring sailing ships! The catalogue also gives tips on producing funky decorative patterns as 'features'. It really is a marvellous slice of '70s and '80s life - even down to the sophistication (we we thought so at the time) of a Sparklets Soda Syphon.

Marina Square, Singapore: (re-processed post). The mall is currently going through extensive extensions work, but the results of its last renovation project is quite pleasing.

Immerse yourself in the sophisticated design of this luxury boutique hotel room in Lisbon, Portugal, where historic charm meets modern "jungle noir" aesthetics. The room is defined by its striking feature wall covered in a bold, black-and-white tropical toile wallpaper. The intricate pattern creates an immersive "Age of Discovery" atmosphere, blending scenes of classical ruins with lush palm trees and exotic foliage—a nod to Portugal’s history of exploration.
The dramatic walls are perfectly balanced by the warmth of the classic herringbone parquet flooring, which glows under the soft ambient lighting. A spacious king-size bed takes center stage, dressed in crisp white linens and accented with cylindrical bolster pillows. In the foreground, a contemporary beige chaise lounge offers a cozy spot to relax, creating a textural contrast with the sleek dark cabinetry of the kitchenette area on the right. This interior perfectly captures the current trend of maximalist storytelling in hotel design, offering a serene yet visually stimulating retreat in the heart of the city.
