Varanasi (Inde) - Ce petit restaurant qui donne sur une ruelle étroite est une sorte de fast-food local. Pour prendre cette photo, j'ai dû utiliser un grand-angle car bien que je sois dans la rue, j'ai très peu de recul.
Je ne vais pas dire que cette minuscule gargote qui fait des "plats" à emporter, respecte les normes sanitaires occidentales. Vous ne me croiriez pas. En revanche, elle est conforme aux normes indiennes ; d’autant qu’il n’y en a pas pour les commerces de rue.
Ici, on est dans le haut de gamme, si je puis m'exprimer ainsi. Le cuisinier a une chemise blanche. Habituellement les vêtements sont maculées de tâches de graisse, dont les plus anciennes remontent plusieurs mois. Et je ne parle pas des marques de transpiration...
Depuis le temps que je voyage en Inde, il m'arrive de manger dans ce genre d'établissement. Il faut savoir vivre dangereusement. Pourtant, j'ai rarement été malade. En cas de problème, j'ai toujours une trousse médicale bien fournie.
Les spécialités locales sont délicieuses. Il faut cependant porter son choix prioritairement sur des produits qui ont été cuits et éviter les légumes lavés à l'eau non filtrée. On limite ainsi les risques d’intoxication. Bon appétit !
Indian fast food
Varanasi (India) - This small restaurant that overlooks a narrow alley is a kind of local fast food. To take this picture, I had to use a wide-angle lens because although I am on the street, I have very little perspective.
I am not going to say that this tiny tavern which only makes "dishes" to take away, respects Western health standards. You wouldn't believe me. On the other hand, it conforms to Indian standards; Especially since there are none for the street trade.
Here we are at the top of the range, if I can put it that way. The cook has a white shirt. Usually clothes are smeared with grease stains, the oldest of which date back several months. As for sweating ...
Since the time that I travel in India, it happens to me to eat in this kind of establishment. You have to know how to live dangerously. However, I have rarely been ill. In the event of a problem, I always have a well-supplied medical kit.
The local specialties are delicious. However, you should choose products that have been cooked and avoid vegetables washed in unfiltered water. This limits the risk of intoxication. Bon appétit !

Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway's Memphis, Tennessee - South Seattle, Washington intermodal train glides along the Clark Fork River west of Toole, Montana the morning of Sept. 17, 2000.
My impressions are the Heritage 1 paint scheme is well suited to the nose, cab, and hood of EMD's SD40-2 model, especially from this perspective.
Soo Line train 203, an auto parts train to the Twin Cities also referred to as the Ford Fast, is westbound at Duplainville, Wisconsin, led by Milwaukee Road EMD SD40-2 No. 174, on April 12, 1987.

Southern Pacific dauylight GS4 4449 heads an Amtrak Special, heading her home to Portland, Oregon following her stint on the American Freedom train. Here pouring it on, rolling fast through the curves at Odell Lake - April 30, 1977.
"Seid ihr am Nordpol?" So reagierte meine Enkeltochter, als sie die "Schneebilder" aus Norwegen sah. Dieses Jahr war im Juni in den höheren Gebieten noch eine Menge Schnee vorhanden.
Dieses Bild verknüpfe auch ich mit abbrechenden Gletscherkanten im Nordpolarmeer.
Mein erster Besuch heuer im Altmühltal war leider mit sehr wenig Erfolg gekrönt. Als ich unterwegs zum Standpunkt war, kamen gleich drei Güterzüge hintereinander. Dann war aber für fast anderthalb Stunden Schluss. Erst danach kam 159.214 von EccoRail mit einem Kesselwagen-Ganzzug ums Eck. Im Gegensatz zu meinem zweiten Besuch war jedoch die Natur noch grün😉
In the course of our first visit to the Altmühl-valley, unfortunatelly, we did not mange to capture too much interesting locos. As we were on the way to the spot, not less than three trains came after one other, but then, a pause of one and a half hour followed. The only real highlight that we could capture is Ecco’s 159.214. In contrast to our second visit, however, the nature was still green 😉
A Great crested grebe chick being fed by it's parent. The chicks are getting quite big now and have started to practice fishing for themselves.
Pump those legs and wings, create that energy to endure lift-off and become part of the fast and the furious !
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.

Lange in meiner Erinnerung bleiben wird der Einsatz von 50 3501 im Rahmen einer Überführung dreier schneeweißer Neubauloks aus Dessau anstatt der sonst üblichen Dieseltraktion am 18.12.2025. Nach dem ersten Bild in Giersleben traf ich kurz vor Blankenburg zusammen mit einigen Hobbykollegen erneut auf die feine Maschine, die vom Meininger Dampflok Verein betreut wird und die Vectron-Lokomotiven A-DPB 1293 909, CZ-ČD 7384 007 und A-DPB 1293 906 im Rahmen ihrer Inbetriebnahme unter die Oberleitung der Rübelandbahn nach Blankenburg Nord brachte.
