This set features something remarkable! A Chieftain Mk11 Tank, built in 1968 and now owned by Joe Hewes (@mrhewess). It’s been brilliantly adapted to plough using a Dowdeswell DP7E plough, transforming a piece of military engineering into a working agricultural machine. Captured at the British Ploughing Championships 2025, it’s an unforgettable sight. The 2025 European Ploughing Championships took place on 1st and 2nd March at Upper Morton, near Retford, Nottinghamshire. The event encompassed both the European Reversible Ploughing Championships and the European Vintage Ploughing Championships. The Vintage competition featured five categories: vintage trailed, vintage mounted, classic, classic reversible, and vintage reversible ploughs.
Teams from 13 countries participated, including France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Sweden.

The second day of the British Ploughing Championships 2025 began under a thick blanket of fog – when I first arrived, I couldn’t even see the other end of the field. It made for a very atmospheric start, especially with the heavy horses working steadily through the mist. There’s something truly special about horse ploughing – the strength, patience, and teamwork on display are a real tribute to traditional farming skills. I didn’t take nearly as many photos as I’d planned, but here’s a look at what I did capture, starting with the heavy horses in the fog.
Norwegian Fjord horses are a hardy, compact breed that has been used for ploughing and other farm work for centuries. Known for their distinctive dun coat and striking black-and-white striped mane, they are incredibly strong for their size, with a calm and willing temperament that makes them ideal for agricultural work.
Traditionally used in Norway’s rugged terrain, Fjords are sure-footed and well-suited to pulling ploughs through tough soil. Their steady nature and intelligence mean they take well to harness work, whether ploughing fields, logging, or pulling carts. Today, they’re still used in some traditional farming settings and are a popular choice for horse ploughing demonstrations and competitions, proving that horsepower doesn’t always come with an engine!

Two uses of sodium humate
●Animals feed additive: Sodium huamte forms a kind of protecting film on the mucosa cells of the intestine. This protection reduces the absorption of toxic substances, as they may occur as a follow-up from infectious processes or from residues from animal feed in the intestinal tract.
It also has the distinct property to absorb toxins from proteins, toxic residues and various heavy metals. Stabilize of intestinal flora. Fix micro-organisms, toxins and harmful substances in animal feed. Promote growth and stimulate the immune system. ●Industry use: sodium humate can be used for removing toxic metals and their ions from wastewater. Sodium humate can be applied as an adjunct in dissolved air flotation cells to assist in the removal of trace amounts of grease, oil, liquid organics and suspended matter. They should be considered as a special coagulant aid to be used in conjunction with water soluble polymeric flocculants for removal of soluble organics. They can also be used as potential fluid loss additives in certain types of organic liquids to prevent seepage from lagoons or pit containment areas.
