I wonder if the farmers found anything at the end of the rainbow

My first try with selective colouring on this old picture of some old farmyard cultivation discs.

Picos de Europa: ⛰️ A transumância, ancestral prática de deslocação de gado bovino para pastagens de alta montanha, mantém viva a tradição e a paisagem única desta região espanhola. 🐮

A typical view in Italy, some years ago. Now there will be at least one TV aereal on that roof and a couuple of cars in the backyard. And no chicken....

The lonely windmill perched high on the hill, comes alive with the turning of its blades as the wind gently blows them into life. Just like life, it goes round and round, sometimes slow, sometimes at a steady pace and sometimes so fast we feel out of control.

This is life.

Its amazing what you can capture while riding in the passenger seat of your wifes car! This shot isnt as crisp as i would like it to be probably because of the moving car and shooting through a windshield. Its nice what can come from a little photoshop :)

I have kept my eye on this particular stream waiting for the right moment to capture its minimalistic beauty. I love the winding stream and how it leads to the tree that lies beside it. Every time I see this, I am reminded of a passage of scripture that I memorized as a youngster. Psalm 1: 1-3 which states "1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

In the Ste-Thérèse Hay Fields

Meanwhile back at the ranch ... just another picture perfect morning in Terrebonne, with Smith Rock providing a dramatic backdrop to this ranch.

Tonight I was on my way home from work and I saw a farmer harvesting in a local field as the moon was rising and the sun was setting. The beauty of the sky provided a nice backdrop for the dedication of the farmer working hard to provide food for the world.

Against all odds, the land endures — silent, steadfast, and beautiful beneath a bruised winter sky.

Taken on the edge of the prairie where the mountains rise like old gods, this scene is Alberta grit in visual form: weathered hay bales, distant silos, and snow-draped peaks whispering stories of survival. This isn’t just a landscape — it’s a quiet anthem to resilience, where nature and hard work hold their ground.

Here ya go ChiChi!!! We boxed up the jars today, so I thought I'd grab you a shot of what it looks like. This is the finished product...this is tomato relish, made of green tomatoes (obviously, lol)! I'll have to grab a shot of the pickles for you one day, and of course now I want to try it with the jalapeno from the garden, so if I do I'll have to snap a pic of that too!

Happy Sunday to you all!

The steam ploughing demonstration at the British Ploughing Championships 2025 was a real treat to watch. I think the only thing that would have met the judges’ criteria was that there were furrows — not straight, neat, or of a consistent depth, but furrows nonetheless! Even so, it was great fun to watch the mighty steam engines working away in the fog, hauling the plough across the field.

A typical scene with us at the moment, lots of piles of muck ready for spreading on the fields. Steaming away in the last of the day's sun.

A well to do city gent possibly - if the bowler hat is anything to go by, or more likely a local farmer with a sense of occasion. Seen at the Festival of the Plough held every year near to Epworth on the Isle of Axholme area of Lincolnshire. His tractor was made for the old West Riding County Council of Yorkshire - way before comfort was ever thought of in a tractor.

This set features something remarkable! A Chieftain Mk11 Tank, built in 1968 and now owned by Joe Hewes (@mrhewess). Itâs been brilliantly adapted to plough using a Dowdeswell DP7E plough, transforming a piece of military engineering into a working agricultural machine. Captured at the British Ploughing Championships 2025, itâs an unforgettable sight. The power of a tank turning the soil where tractors and horses usually tread, a perfect mix of innovation, heritage, and British humour.

Not very easy getting a completely clear sky lately in Gaspésie. Got lucky on this shot for less than 30 minutes

I want to keep coming back to this border fence to try to capture it in slightly different ways in different seasons. I've caught it in a winter snow (flic.kr/p/SXTJwy) so far and wanted to get it during the Spring. I can hardly wait to capture farmers planting in the fields and crops growing and then being harvested. One of the great things of living where there are four distinct seasons is that you get to see the circle of life.

I was driving my son to play in his school's Pep Band and saw that the sun was setting and casting a beautiful reflection on the ice covered snowy fields. I stopped the car and took multiple shots to build this panorama.
