We'd picked the apples,Honey Crisp, Galas and Macintoch,

escaped from bees and wasps and hornets

we learned reluctantly about a feeling at day's end

that would not come for many months to little minds.

There was the ladder, still erect, it seemed to point toward the sunset

past two or maybe three forgotten apples, there had been little thought about them

and now there was no time to do what I had learned so long ago,

but life had taken from me, with permission, an honest, hard and satisfying day

of apple picking

With autumn just around the corner, we're getting ready to leave the heat for the harvest. Picking that perfect apple is always a fun weekend activity for the entire family to enjoy. You should consider heading out to for an afternoon of picking apples.

God created men and women equal, but with complementary roles. The Bible teaches that marriage should be ONLY between one man and one women. Polygamy discriminates against women and treats them as inferior, second class citizens.

Polygamous cultures, religions and cults cannot support the equality of men and women, that God intended, and are intrinsically evil.

By their fruits ye shall know them.

False religions and false prophets practice or permit polygamy and divorce.

Both polygamy and divorce are wrong in the eyes of God, and both are condemned by Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, true God and true man.

Ok, once again these billboards are appearing all over Galveston County, Texas, USA....

The lengths some people will go to spread hate.....Its a shame that some people have yet to understand that no one chooses to be gay. Why would anyone choose to be hated, loathed, and descriminated against by a large segment of society?

The TANAKH (Old Testament Bible) says that G-d created man in his image...and that G-d doesn't create anything imperfect in his eyes.... So to somehow say that gay people need to be "fixed" is to say G-d made a mistake.

But... no matter what you believe in, the fact that one group of people thinks they are better than another and that those who are not like them need to be "fixed"....just makes me sick....

I love this sign, it's awesome!

We need it NOW. Or yesterday, preferably.

Connor Deino Simkins, the leading man in upcoming ab-fab musical movie, "Perfectly Frank" giving me a big thumbs-up on location shoot in the ballroom of Southport's Prince of Wales Hotel..

I was privileged (and proud) to be involved in the making of this film. From the producer, director, actors, supporting cast, dancers, camera and sound crews, right through to the clapperboard bloke(s), I was welcomed with open arms into this "one big happy family".

Thanks gals & guys, I'll never forget you.

The lad on the right is also seen (3rd on the right) in the photo that follows. He's a leading light in Liverpool's MLA Choir which recently featured in BBC TV's Pitch Battle, series.

As I chatted to him (re; taking his pic) the lovely lady @ left rushed over, proudly proclaiming that she was his mum.

Problematically, at this point we were all being pushed & shoved by the ever growing crowd. Hence, the extra close, close up, as none of us dared move back a bit for fear of being photo bombed. And, I DO mean photo bombed!

However, when you two lovely people see this, I hope you like it ; it's the best I could do under such circumstances.

Capitalizing on a growing sense of public uncertainty and fear, political deagogues and opportunists are now having a field day.

In the United States, they are attacking big government and environmentalists while calling for tax cuts, government down-sizing, the restoration of family values and individual responsibility, the elimination of restrictions on natural resource exploitation, increased defense expenditures, a tougher stand on crime, market deregulation and free trade.

Posing as conservatives committed to protecting ordinary people from the abuses of big government, they play simultaneously to the self-reliant, who are distrustful of government; to the economically burdened, who seek tax relief; to workers in resource-based industries, who fear environmental restrations; and to corporate interests, which are eager for greater freedom to increase profits by externalizing costs.

. . . Few of thgeir proposals will contribute to restoring the values of family, community and self-reliance. To the contrary, they allow the world's largest corporations the free to colonize still more of the world's markets and resources to the benefit of the already rich, shift tax burdens from those best able to pay to those least able to pay, and enlarge the police powers of the state to stem the resulting social unrest.

The opportunists and demagogues of corporate libertarianism have linked corporate money and power with populist interests to advance an agenda that results in placing corporate interests above human interests.

. . . The time is ripe for a realignment of political alliances, which is likely to come into full flower only when the true populists realize that their enemy is not only big central government but also the giant corporations that owe no allegiance to place, people, or human interest.

~ When Corporations Rule the World

www.desmogblog.com/when-corporations-rule-world-thanks-su...

With its ruling in Citizens United v. the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the Supreme Court has granted corporations even further unfettered access to destroy the fundamental Constitutional protections against corporate control of government. The Chamber of Commerce and ExxonMobil must be thrilled.

. . . Corporations, Wall Street and other special interests can now spend as much as they want on commercials and literature to call for the victory or defeat of federal political candidates.

Consider the power corporations already have over our democracy. For instance, the Finance, Insurance and Real Estate Industries spent over $132 million on political contributions to presidential candidates in the 2008 election. THat was one industry sector, one race, $132 million. Sure, it was a presidential race, so the stakes were high. But consider that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce spent $123 million lobbying the federal government in 2009, with no presidential race in sight. That was before the Chamber pledged to wage its "most aggressive" election fight ever in 2010, and put out the call to Big Business to pony up $100 million to do it. The Chamber already spends upwards of $300,000 per day on lobbying.

How many individuals could match that kind of spending power? And now that the limits to this largesse have been removed, how will We The People ever compete with corporations to choose our leaders?

. . . On the flip side of the coin, look at the elation of Republican corporate lapdogs like Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY):

“For too long, some in this country have been deprived of full participation in the political process. With today’s monumental decision, the Supreme Court took an important step in the direction of restoring the First Amendment rights of these groups by ruling that the Constitution protects their right to express themselves about political candidates and issues up until Election Day. By previously denying this right, the government was picking winners and losers. Our democracy depends upon free speech, not just for some but for all.”

“First Amendment rights?”

The crowd in Public Square in Downtown Cleveland today, supporting family values, and protesting the separation of children from parents and throwing them in cages.

I was having dinner in a nearby eaterie when I spotted this.

It was sometime between 8pm and 9pm (trying to check EXIF on new Flickr) so nearing twilight/sunset.

It made my heart smile.
