Trying out the Fujian 35mm f/1.7 CCTV lens with micro four thirds. I'm relatively happy with it for a character lens. Better way to get interesting Helios 44-type bokeh, if not full Helios 40 levels of crazy. It's slightly tamer on micro four thirds than on APS-C, due to the crop and I think I like it at least as well.

This Barn Swallow looks like he has a giant smile but the smile is actually a twig or piece of grain! My bird models usually do smile for me!

Happy Smile on Saturday!

Or flowers of obedient plant, if you prefer...

Anna was very cheerfull. Thats the way she is.

Most of the time she was laughing during the shoot. Before the shoot, when we first met, she said " why are your photos so dark and depressive? " . Well, I tried to explain.

I thought that she would not understand, but she did. She understood perfectly what I wanted to achieve. And, finally she also understood the answer to her own question.

4th of a series of 10 shots from False Creek shot on May 13th, 2012. Hope you'll all enjoy this series.

The false dragonheads are on the way out, but are still producing a few flowers...

Drive along the coast from Hermanus to Gordon's Bay and on to Stellenbosch

False Bay. first mentioned in 1488 as the “gulf between the mountains”. The name “False Bay” comes from sailors who sailed into the bay because they thought it was Table Bay.

False Bay. 1488 wurde sie erstmals als „Golf zwischen den Bergen“ erwähnt. Der Name „False Bay“ stammt von Seefahrern, die in die Bucht segelten, weil sie sie für die Table Bay hielten.

I revisited Columbia River Gorge, Oregon this May on my trip to Palouse. This shot is taken at Gorton Creek. It seems water level is very low due to the heavy drought of this year so it was making the condition not so desired to shoot. Yet I surprisingly found this yellow maple leaf in the lush green season. A false signal saved my day. : )

Amanita citrina - lots of these in the New Forest today.

The primroses and cowslips in the garden hybridised some years ago to produce these flowers known as False Oxlips

Obedient Plants are so named because the individual flowers, when they are moved in a new direction, will temporarily stay in that position. Interesting to think about how and why that characteristic evolved...yes? It's Friday, my friends, have a wonderful weekend!

I may be wrong but I think these are False Truffles, I keep finding little holes in the ground up the wood, when I investigated them I found these about 2cm deep, some half eaten, what would eat this? possibly squirrel?

I found this fine looking specimen in a wooded area on on the North Downs a few weeks ago. I believe it is a False Death Cap but happy to be corrected.

Happy Web Wednesday, this one certainly moves fast! HA

Pacifica Pier, Apr 2011

After three tries I think I got the perspective right. I've found it difficult to center the tripod and get the overhead part of the pier to converge correctly in the frame. If you've been to this location you know how tricky it is to get a shot. Even at low tide you will get a wave or two smashing into you during the large set, and low tide is the ONLY time to stand here if you know what I mean :).

This shot took an inordinate amount of tweaking in post to enhance the dramatic feel. The straight lines of the pier and the horizon are a nightmare to mask around without getting a lot of fringing.

All comments, critiques and feedback both positive and negative welcome.
